I know I was joking...and i hope CLM doesn't see that formation

against an undersized Dline, come on, they just stink and everyone could see it.

All I can say is, I friggin' hope so! That occurred to me during the game and I hope it wasn't wishful thinking.

The answer to the original question is "yes"--the offensive line and the runners were put into the Power I and assigned to win the game. The early dropped passes and the interception led to the decision. This is the Big Cat drill brought into the game. Miles wants every opponent to know we can do this. Think of the last drive against Florida in 2007 and all the 4th down calls.

I think some are forgetting already, against Wisconsin, when they were in real jeopardy of losing the game in the second half, they ran it out of the spread. There was no telegraphing anything. I imagine they would prefer upcoming opponents to forget they did that too...

It's possible, and a good thought. The real question is if this is this case, that Les is purposefully doing this, why not just admit it and then half the criticism you incur melts away.

When has Les ever done anything to shy away from criticism? One of the things his players constantly bring up after leaving is that he preaches an 'in house' mentality, and only on rare occasions will he publicly place blame on anyone but himself.

Alx, I'll fight you irl.

Like any SEC would not be prepared to play against a spread offense.

Les has to understand that the "secret" playbook he has is just a simple playbook that someone scribbled "secret" on.

Y'all will learn one day that every scrub game we play Les has goals to achieve. Not goals to beat that team, but things he wants to see improved in game situations for down the road.

At least I have the god-given sense to not call a sac-a-lait a "white perch."

I think it was a coaching plan - looked kind of scrimmage coaching to me. I think the up-the-middle and power stuff was mainly for Porter - who obviously needed the game reps.

I think the over all demeanor of the offense and Jennings was affected by this and it resulted in generally sluggish play - especially in the 1st half.

We shall see if Porter with the O-Line jells into form for SEC play soon enough.

We can all agree that was an absurd amount of power-I and one reciever sets. In usual rant fashion, some have declared that the OLine is now terrible. I saw a defense stacking the box almost every single down, which is always a struggle for the big uglies. Anyone else think this was part of the plan to toughen them up a bit and work out who the true starters should be going into the SEC slate?

Yes considering Alexander and Porter were getting man handled by ULM. 8 man boxes and we couldn't hold a block to save our lives. I'm honestly amazed our backs did as well as they did. TEs looked good mostly. Tackles did aight. But that center of the line made me cringe.

Center and both guards either took the night off or need "attention" in practice. If one got his block, the other whiffed, got shoved back, or fell down. We need all 3 on their blocks together. IDK, maybe they just had a bad night.
