May prove better than LF!

Didn't mean to single out one poster, but lol at you idiots thinking DW has looked, or will ever be, as good as LF. DW is a top-notch college back, and he'll make bank in the NFL, just not as much as LF will bank...and you can take that you-know-where.

He just has those thick legs and runs leaned forward. He looks to have great balance and one of those guys that are just hard to bring down kinda like Michael Turner or MJD

Its just that more is expected of a Heisman candidate.

The day after games on here always leaves me wondering what fricking games some of y'all are watching. I have no idea on which planet Williams has been significantly more impressive than Fournette.

My God this! Williams runs with power, and he bounced off tackle for his long TD, but that's about it.

He had 14 carries for 4.64 ypc against SHSU. In that same game, Fournette had 13 carries for 92 yards (7.1 ypc) and a TD. He also had 2 catches for 32 yards. If not for the punishment, he would have had 2 TDs, in that game.

Against ULM, Williams had 7 carries for 37 yards with his big gainer on 22 with a TD. Outside of that, he had 15 yards on 6 carries. in that same game, Fournette had 9 carries for 54 yards and a TD before being hit immediately in the backfield on his last run. Outside of that 24 yard TD before the final run, he had 7 carries for 30 yards which was 4.29 ypc which is respectable.

Let's not forget that Fournette has been decoy on two of Hilliard's TDs, and two of Williams. I'm pretty sure Fournette will get the ball on a toss a couple of times this year.

You have to hit the line with speed and make a split second decision/cut to gain yards.

This depends on the run play. Then again I'm not a coach like you.

I was thinking the same thing. Can he run harder?

Why do Darrel Williams is so good threads end up being bash Leonard Fournette threads? Both are doing and look great. Williams will be a great back for LSU and so will Fournette.

They will be forever tied to each other for the rest of their tenure at LSU. It's just the way it is.

I think both are great but some have to pick a side on everything.

Please note that Rivals ranked Fournette (5 star)number 1 and Williams (4 star) number 7 running backs in the nation. Williams is also above what I would call "normal."

To me he is more impressive than Fournette

I just watched the ULM game for the first time. Fournette makes three plays in that game that no other back on our team could make. He just makes them look so easy that you don't notice the speed.

The first was the swing pass to the right side that went for nice yardage. The second was a toss to the right side that went for about 15. And the third was the big TD run.

In each case Fournette used his uncommon speed, similar to Jeremy Hill, to make a play where there was nothing. But Fournette is far more powerful than Hill. By the end of this year Fournette will be the best back in college football. He just needs to get to where the reads are second nature.

I like Williams, but we have a Williams on the team every year. In 45 years of watching the Tigers, I only remember one RB like Fournette. That was Cecil Collins. None of the others - not Dalton, not Faulk - have what #7 has. And don't tell me to pump the brakes; my foot's on the gas where LF is concerned.

Such a surprise actually. I remember people on the rant from NO telling us that we will be surprised. Well, I LOVE this kid. He is an SEC back for sure...

Happy we have both...and have Ducre and Guice, with hopefully Brosette next season...
At LSU there will never be a shortage of RBs and FBs...

there both going to be great, just different style backs that realy go good together, that's why i called them smash n dash.they been pushing each other since summer year after there jr years. leonard has so much pressure on him ,how could anybody live up to it. i think besides uga duo,lsu has the best pair of young backs.

the thing i like is they all compete, will make each other better.like one of the guys said . darrel was a top 11 back in the country, he was rank 144th best player over all, so it's no surprise to us and lsu coaches to whats going on, i think by auburn game you will see them more than the older guys .

Darrel Williams is exceeding expectations.

Leonard Fournette is living up to his unreal expectations.

I don't understand why Williams success has to come at LF expense by some of you knot-heads.

Why can't you people be happy that both are playing at very high level?
