TMZ just released the audio. The cops were called because they were having sex in the car. That gave the right to ask for her ID. Watts also told the cop she had a publicist and would make a big scene if kept asking for ID.
I don't like cops but it sounds like she's a race baiter.

The audio of her trying to get the cop to talk to her "Daddy" on speaker phone is priceless. Clearly she was being run roughshod by the cops.
If I talk back like that anywhere I am getting a wuppin and thrown in jail while they sort things out.

So, you gonna update your thread title and OP?
Once again, it's not the cops just walking around oppressing people. Shocker.

Why? Neither the cops nor politicians will pay. You pay, the lawyers get paid, and the victim feels better.

How about "sexing guy in a car in broad daylight"?

I don't give government enforcers the benefit of the doubt but I probably should have once the race card was played. Race politics trumps all else when it comes to unbridled stupidity without repercussion. When in doubt just cry racism. If you call her out on it then guess what.. you're a racist.
Nothing will happen to her. The beat goes on.

What was the pertinence of her ID in this instance?

What was the pertinence of her ID in this instance?
Supposedly they suspected her of sex in public, which might still be a crime in LA.

So again, what was the pertinence of her ID in this instance?

Unknown. The problem is that cops have such a broad range of discretion by which to enforce laws. People were handcuffed and deprived if freedom, but they may not have even filed a report.

Anyone who would take the police asking for ID after they have received a call for service as a form of injustice is living in a dream world. Unfortunately people keep repeating this stuff and begin to believe it. And that leads to people getting into serious trouble for the most trivial things.
