For fun, approximately this night 1 year ago, I attempted to stay awake to order a Gold 5s as soon as they went on sale, but I tired out. My alarm was set for 4:30 (hospital stuff...and kind of the reason I couldn't make it to 0200). If I remember correctly, it was about a 3 week wait from when I ordered (between 4:30 and 5am) and when I got my phone. I was quite surprised at just how many of "the faithful" stayed up/got up and ordered on time.

Moral (I guess) of the story: if you want it fast(est), make sure you order between 0200-0210(CST). Be signed in, waiting, and ready through your carrier early. Hit refresh often.
