What's most weird about this is, to me, Rog is not a guy who makes comments to generate controversy. He's just an innocent guy who loves the U.S., GFOPs, and Miguel Herrera.

Is Wahl that attention seeking that he thinks he can ride Rog's coat tails by making some dumb comment on twitter and then apologizing for it?

Rog is a journalist though. Look at what he did with the March to Brazil series. Not only was he the brains behind it, he was the one asking questions to get those soundbytes.

I wouldn't call him a journalist. He may do journalism, but he's also an entertainer. I'd consider him more general of a general media practitioner. It's not like he's trying to hit the beat and dig up scoops. That's a sort of dying/transforming breed, and he's more of the evolution of a modern media member.

Rog is great. Grant Wahl is good at what he does, too, but he pulls stuff like this from time to time. It's annoying and petty.

It's not like Wahl is doing this either, though.

I mean the Adrian Wajnarowski of the soccer world right now is Taylor fricking Twellman.

grant wahl blocked leauxgan. he's been dead to me for awhile (but i still follow him because it seems like occasionally he has good stuff, though i'm struggling to remember any scoops/great articles he's had recently. maybe the suarez interview, but that came on the heels of wright thompson's fantastic piece on suarez)

MIB >>> Wahl

I honestly don't know enough about Wahl's work to know if he's good or not. I've heard him a few times on a radio or TV spot here and there, and that's plenty for me. I found it hard to concentrate on what he's talking about because that whiny voice of his is so damn painful to listen to. He comes off as someone who has never played sports before.

Team Rog for me.

I love reading Wahl's articles but that is where he belongs. In the printed word. He doesn't have the personality for TV or radio and his voice doesn't help either
