or like a jetski or boat or ATV, in that operating them is just a lot of fun.

I've been figuring ~$800-1000 for insurance for a fixed gear 4 seater and doubling that for rg.

To make buying worth it economically you usually need to fly >100hrs a year.

Meh, sometimes when you show up in your own plane........the deal happens to get done.

Directly? you'll never pay for it.

But just like having a yacht. If you bring clients on it.......things tend to get done.

For instance, if a 152 is due for major overhaul at 3000 hours, and the plane has 2800 hours on it, then you've only got 200 hours until you have to dump thousands into it to keep it air worthy.

A guy does good to get 100 hours a year. Average private pilot puts on about 40-50 I believe. Overhaul isn't usually too big of a concern unless you're the poor sap who just bought one in need of a $15,000 overhaul.

older 2-4 seat, fixed gear constant speed prop, yes, anything with some comfort and velocity, whole different world, don't get me wrong, I'd like to buy those two Fulcrums for sale in IL, but I'd need a KC-10 to go with it, usually the purchase price looks so appealing for a jet, but it's the maintenance and operation that usually kills the deal

yep, if you consider those business tools you probably won't pay for it, because you'll usually wind up in bankruptcy protection

let's do it, most of those are one way trips with the Anatov, they fly them into wherever they're going and walk away

But I can fly and am willing to shoot someone if it comes to that

How hard could it be.

Though, I predict within 5 years we are involved in a pretty heavy coup d' etat that sees the demise of 2 of the 3 original partners. The 3rd will become dictator of some sub-saharan shithole before getting offed by his military commandant.

if we work this right, we might use our flying skills but we should have the shooting part taken care of if we leverage the deal properly, I'd do it in a heart beat
