Because this will be his last year at Georgia Tech. If he makes it all year, I will be surprised
Time for Tech to move on from him

I dunno. He's done pretty good there all things considered. It's Georgia Tech.

Service academy at best. Maybe somewhere in FCS.
He's seems to be married to the triple option so he should go to a place where it will work.

lol didn't know he was still coaching. I'm assuming he's still running that silly offense?

Offensive Coordinator at Penn State. BOOKMARK IT.
And I bet Tech pursues Smart and Pruitt pretty hard.

I think their fans are content with the mediocre crap he rolls out there every year.

All I can tell you is that when he first got to GT, and he had some initial success, I got into here with a few posters. One Prominent poster, swore his offense would work anywhere. I explained that offense had drawbacks and that this wasn't the 1970's.
Anyway, just wanted to gloat.
It's a good offense to use if you're ok with 7-5 records. But you will never be elite running. It.

Maybe Oglethorpe can start up a team.

Georgia Tech is pathetic for hiring him and letting him run that offense there.

I'm not as familiar with the situation as others here probably are since I don't watch GT much, but coming in there and trying to implement a more modern offense with personnel recruited for the triple option is going to be a clusterfrick and prospective coaching candidates likely understand this

GA Tech since 1980-
Bill Curry = 31-43 42%
Bobby Ross = 31-26 54%
Bill Lewis = 11-19 36%
George O'Leary= 52-33 61%
Chan Gailey= 44-32 57%
Interim Coaches McMorter & Tenuta went 1&1
Paul Johnson 49-32 61%

Tech alum and fan here. I've been over CPJ for 2-3 years now. Really depresses me to see fans here or elsewhere defend him and think we shouldn't make a change. Loser mentality if you ask me

I think he will be back at GTech, this isn't Nebraska after all.

Paul Johnson should go coach at a lower level. Fcs or even division 2 maybe. But fact is he will never dream of winning it all running that offense. I love to watcg tech play, because that offense is so entertaining to me. They do a good job of running it to perfection. But the fact is, with PJ at head coach, Tech is destined for mediocrity year in and year out at tech. That is the simple truth
