I posted this over on score board just now. I thought it might be relevant here.

If I may suggest, a Gin Buck (Moscow Mule's Daddy) or a Bourbon Buck (the Mule's uncle) would be really nice alternatives. With the ginger beer and lime the juniper in the gin becomes a complimentary flavor for those who hate on gin. The cocktail itself blows the mule out opf the water. For the record, the Bourbon Buck is made w/lemon and the Gin Buck w/lime. Both of these predate the Moscow Mule by approx 50 years.

Just about all my wife has drank for the last year. It's the super trendy drink around here. The bad news is that the price of ginger beer has more than doubled during that time. The good news is that ginger beer is no longer hard to find.

I like them a lot for a refreshing drink, but I like Kentucky Mules or a Dark and Stormy as much or more when it comes to an actually interesting cocktail. But that's because I like to taste my booze.

Oh also: Marshall's and TJ Maxx have copper mugs pretty often these days at about a quarter of the price of the ones we got from Williams and Sonoma.

Try a Mexican mule, I like em better. Sub the vodka for jalapeño tequila or regular tequila if you don't like spicy.

They are great and if you were to ever need a refreshing non-alcoholic drink, ginger ale and lime is simple and delicious.
