Holy shite man. That is a tough read.
Yeah. The road where he was initially taken and beaten is about 1/2 mile from where I was living at the time with my parents....

If you are talking about the shooting in Slidell last year, I knew one of the victims too. Sorry for your loss

knew a dude who was shot. We were like 19 and he was a friend of a friend. Drug deal gone wrong. No big loss, really.

Never understand this attitude. He was a human that could have been perhaps redeemed from whatever you believe he was guilty of.

Millions of bad people turn their lives around.

just remembered another. Older kid I grew up with in the neighborhood. He was stabbed multiple times in the back and head. There were 2 brothers that died in a fire in their home right before or after the murder. Story goes they were all involved in stealing guns from the National Guard armory, and got offed. Nothing ever came out of it.
Sad thing is these kids were younger than 18

I don't have time to read through all of the court document. What ever happened to the suspects?

ETA: I had a cousin that grew up on the water. Went fishing and never came back. When they found him a couple of weeks later they ruled it an accidental drowning. Problem was multiple items had been taken and the boat had no damage or signs that it had been in an accident. He had issues with drug abuse though.

I knew a few. Probably the weirdest was a guy who killed a State Trooper, then his kids, then took his own life. Knew him and the trooper.

LINK

Killer was a laid back guy who went off the edge when his GF was trying to take the kids. Saw him a week before at a party with the kids. Drugs and alcohol probably played a role too. Trooper was a guy I went snow machining with on occasion.

Knew a local kid around here who went down to Arkansas for some reason and was beaten and killed by 4 teens on a thrill kill.

A distant family member and kid I rode the bus with for years was killed by his BiL.

Murderer was headed towards divorce and my friend was married to his wife's sister. She was at their house and he came over drunk, shot the 3 adults (friend and his wife died, wife of shooter survived) and kidnapped the children.

More than one - one was immediate family. You never get over it and it affects you the rest of your life.
