I still love going to the theater. Turning my phone off as soon as I walk in the door and "unplugging" for a couple of hours, but the prices are becoming a huge turn off. It's over $50 for my family of 4 to go to the movies after you throw in concessions. Last movie we saw as a family was last summer, and it was $60 for tickets and concessions. Not worth it anymore.

take the kids to matinees. If you can take them on a weekday, it's a lot cheaper.

I will also sneak in candy. I'm not paying $4 for a king sized M&M I will pay $5.25 for a coke.

Saw a lot of movies this summer.

Godzilla
22 Jump Street
Edge of Tomorrow
X-Men
Sin City 2
Transformers 4
Guardians of the Galaxy
Winter Soldier
Ghosbusters
Neighbors
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Maleficent

I went to see Ninja Turtles two weeks ago on a Sunday and I was standing in the concessions line for a drink. The family in front of me had 4 kids. They all ordered those nacho boxes, popcorn, and drinks. I overheard the clerk say, "Your total is $116.43, sir."
