It's over.

Jennings is the starter it's simple.

Lol. Harris will get in with about 3 minutes left. Les will make up some babble afterwards about opportunities not presenting themselves....
And this will go on for the next 2 years.

Yep. It's crazy that fans who have been observing the way CLM operates and listening to his coach-speak for 10 years can't see the handwriting on the wall. It really isn't rocket science people. No need to overthink it.

With QBs, you're basically as good as your last outing (as we saw on here after the bowl game). You can't listen to anything Les says one way or the other because there were times during the Lee/JJ days when he said both quarterbacks would get significant snaps and JJ got the only significant snaps (in the back half of 2011).

Hopefully, we can get a decent lead this weekend (though we're not usually a fast starter) and Harris can get 30% or so of the snaps because if we have an injury in an SEC game, we're probably in trouble. Jennings played well for the 1st game of the season, so the job is his until there are any big changes in his performance.

He played well but 9/21 is concerning. Especially against a weak secondary.

he played well, but there is a lot of room for improvement at the position.

so for harris to even have played a few snaps against wisconsin is remarkable to me with les miles as the coach.

Yeah um no. Anthony Jennings played against TCU last year (season opener). So this true freshman playing time thing isn't "remarkable" or unique to Brandon Harris.

And in 2005/06/07 redshirts were still big. In 2005 and 2006 LSU's QB situation was Jamarcus then Flynn then RP. So Les had to give Flynn snaps in 2006 to break him in, and RP was third in line which explains the little PT.

If when referring to RP getting "some reps" in 2007 you mean started two games including the SECCG and played in every game except bama due to suspension and played key roles against Florida and Virginia Tech, then yes "some reps" is correct.

fricking revisionists.....

I don't know about Cam, but I believe even before the game, that Miles really wanted Jennings to take the reigns and run away with the position. I think he really doesn't want to trust a true freshman in the SEC

I also think that he believes that Jennings has a better command of the offense, is more in tune with the WRs, and will turn the ball over less. I know people will jump on me about Iowa and the spring game, but Iowa was his first start against a top 10 team, and they handcuffed him which took him out of rhythm.

Harris is a true freshman, Harris also has a cannon, Harris also has accuracy issues. Putting that altogether with a young team does not sound good at all. We'll know after Mississippi State, if Jennings is really good, or just good enough.

If he is just good enough (58% 2000-2200 yards 17 TDs), Harris has a chance to pass him up in 2015.

If he is really good (60%+ 2500-2700 yards 20-24 total TDs) Harris waits until Jennings leaves.

IMO, Jennings is really good. I believe we finally have that guy that we are confident in leading our team for 3 years. Sure it's really premature, but he can grow with these guys, he has Cam as a QB coach, and a great run game. When we get Porter back, the OL will be a strength which will let him sit back and pick defenses apart.

Why do you keep going on about a weak secondary? Everybody and their mama was talking about how that would be a strength. After Miles/Cam let Jennings play, he threw all over that "strength". After watching all the SEC defenses Saturday, which secondary outside of LSU's and maybe UGA's are actually good? You might say Ole Miss, but they let a bad QB roast them.

A lot of you lack perspective. Harris wasn't ready week 1. He's going to play more as the season rolls on and when he gets his feet under him, he will be the guy. Harris is Cam's guy. He's the one they want to turn the offense over to, but only when he is ready.

No one said it would be their strength and if they did they didn't know shite. They started a 3/2 star freshmen from Massechusetts at safety. If you think we won't find a secondary better than that you're fooling yourself.

And you could just as easily say that our WRs ran all over Wisconsin more so than he passed all over them. A large amount of that 239 was after the catch and some great plays by WR.

From Geaux247

"Miles was pretty clear about how the QB shuffle will play out in the near future. For now, the job belongs to Anthony Jennings. “I think Brandon Harris is coming,” Miles said. “We’re not going to predetermine an amount of play for him"

they're are bringing him along slowly IMO. even still he got an entire series of his first game as a true freshman. can't think of another time that's happened in the les miles era. Jarrett Lee played in 2008 as a redshirt freshman. that's as close as I can remember.

The only reason I support this is that the chances of a mobile QB getting hurt are higher than those for statue QB.

Such bullshite. Jennings needs as many game reps as possible to get ready for SEC play.

Jennings is the guy for now and for the next few games at least, but Harris has long-term potential. Glad he's getting some time early on to help get his feet wet, it'll pay dividends down the road.
