So if Anthony Jennings reminds you of Herb Tyler

Who did Herb Tyler remind you of when you saw him play in the 90's?

Actually comparison to both Flynn and Tyler aren't that bad.
All 3 QBs(and grant it we've seen very little from AJ) seem to have ability to improvise and find where the play is that defense is giving up. Instinct that can be hard to teach but sometimes comes natural.

And why do 90% of threads start with a bunch vomiting up sarcasm? Comparing one player to another has been a part of discussing sports since sports existed.

Really, though, if you're honest, he's a virtual clone of Carl Otis Trimble

He's probably more mobile than Flynn... And I hesitate to compare a true sophomore to a fifth year senior... But I can see it.

We haven't had a true tuck 'n run pocket QB for a long, long time. I hope that's what he is.

As far as the comedians, most were probably in diapers when Tyler was playing and Internet intimidation is good for the ego, I guess.

I wish he'd tuck it and run some more like Tyler did.....but not that similar.

No comparison except they both plan quarterback and their skin color.
Herb was a very elusive runner with quick feet that could throw the ball some.

Jennings is an excellent passer of the long ball but doesn't run nearly as effective as Herb.

Judging from his second half performance, Jennings may be the most accurate long ball passer of the modern era at LSU.

Rohan Davey

I had more confidence in Rohan to Reid than any QB, prior to Mett to Landry. I do have a good feeling about Jennings and this group of receivers. I feel they will be very special before they leave.

He's like Kevin Faulk, if Kevin Faulk had below-average moves and speed for a running back and worse ball carrier vision, but could throw the football really well, and if he played quarterback instead of running back. And if he were a slightly different height and weight.

When they took the reigns off, he looked like a pure passer. Very excited to see what he can do going forward. He's got a great arm.

If he didn't step up, Harris would be our starter.

Jennings showed grit and deserves to be our starter.

This also give Harris more time to improve and get more comfortable in our offense

I was there for herbs years

Close enough to hear his long asses fingernails rake the ball everytime he threw

He and AJ look nothing at all alike to me. Throwing motion, skill set, style of play... Nothing

Jennings first game this year is the exact OPPOSITE of Herb Tyler.

Jennings has speed but is not a great runner. Tyler was a true runner. The comparisons get further apart from here on out.

Jennings long balls we spot on, but his short passes were shite. This is the exact opposite of Herb Tyler. I don't think Herb Tyler ever threw an errant short pass in his entire career at LSU.
