Not arguing about this anymore! It's pointless! I had no issue with anything, except the alcohol line. There were several cash bars throughout the event, but I admit the tenders were a bit slow. Other than that, everything was fine for us! As far as the good, I didn't eat until roughly 6pm and I had a full plate. Eat earlier next time because food was prepared for the prepaid tickets, which was over 4000. Those that didn't prepay didn't get a meal ticket.

You're literally being told that the event you charged $50 for, essentially, a plate of food and some air conditioning was not worth the money to attend and you sit here criticizing the people who paid hard-earned money to go to your event for telling you how it is? Did it ever occur to you that you're viewing this through someone associated with the Alumni party?

My uncle and about 7 of his friends went to your little function, even after I informed them it wasn't worth the $50. They all came back and said they wished they would have stayed in Rice Village and drank.

Here's a novel idea; next time, limit your tickets to those who pre-order. That way you can control the amount of food being served (don't tell someone that they should have are earlier, if they paid money they have a right to arrive as late as they want and still be able to partake in whatever their money bought them), you can anticipate lines for restrooms and bars, and you can decide if it's really worth it in the long run.

Also, if you have any control or are a in a leadership position with the alumni chapter, I'd say you need to re-evaluate the words you're saying because you're definitely alienating some posters on here that are vocal but probably making others question you who aren't posting. In fact, if I was in the chapter, I'd ask that you cut back on representing us for awhile.

But that's just me.

I did not attend and have no dog in this fight, but you are really doing the alumni association and yourself a disservice in this thread. If you can't handle peoples complaints you should not put events on. Consider listening instead of arguing with people who paid a decent amount to attend what was in many peoples minds a poorly run event.

WTF?

so you charge an extra $75 for the people that didn't prepay and they get less out of the deal?Thats the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of.

This thread is the best example I have ever seen of a thread going totally different than how the OP expected it to go...

These guys are a bunch of miserable complainers. They are the same people who want to fire miles and always play the backup qb. They call our own players garbage and they aren't true fans. The tailgate from all accounts was professional clean and sanitary. The AC was blowing very cold and the band put on a outstanding show.

If anything you guys under charged for the experience.

It's a good thing the Alumni Association doesn't have a Yelp review page.

I can only imagine.

"PLEASE don't come to the next one or anybody's cause all you will do is complain like a spoiled brat!"

is even more ironic when you look at post history and see the complaints he makes about Woodrows- prices, food quality and service

After the tailgate in Dallas, there was absolutely no way I was paying for another one of these.

So you sold over 4K tickets, had 6-7K in attendance by your own estimate and only had one line for food, one CASH bar and only 6-8 door workers. I have no idea who was planning this, but this was obviously the first time they've EVER put on a party close to this size. Sounds like it went horribly.

What a complete dumbass! There were about 6k-7k people that showed up for this. A lot of which at the same time. There were many rushes thoughout the afternoon. Approximately 6-8 people worked the door. The turnout was greater than expected, but we handled it well as the line always kept moving. PLEASE don't come to the next one or anybody's cause all you will do is complain like a spoiled brat! The chapter knows it was a success! Thanks to the thousands that showed their appreciation!

The LSU Houston Alumni chapter might want to find another spokesperson. You are making the whole group look bad and with as much as you advertised this thing in the past couple months, i'm guessing you are in some sort of leadership position within the group. unfortunately, that explains a lot. the best advise I can give to you is to just accept your failure, learn from it and move on.

I was there. The people that are complaining are the types to cry when their coffee is too hot.

The line to get in the doors, took us less than 5 minutes to get through.

The line for food stretched all the way across the building when I got in line. Guess what, I was piling food on my plate within 5 or 6 minutes. I got in line while my girlfriend went to the restroom. When she came back and got in line with me, we were the next people in and I even let about 10 people skip me. The line moved very fast.

The band was great, we loved that they came in.
BTE, not a fan, never have been. I think a good cover band would have been better and probably cheaper. Either way, I don't care. I still enjoyed having music.

Beer and liquor lines were my only complaint. It took me probably 15 to 20 minutes to get my last couple of drinks.

Certainly could have used more tables and places to sit. A lot of people were sitting on the floor.

Would have like to have had a couple more TVs. Due to their being so few and us wanting to watch the bama game, we were very limited as to where we could go in the building. So we stood at the rail of the VIP section the entire time. Again, no big deal. That was our choice.

Food wasn't the best and it was far from the worst. If you go in to a catered event expecting the best food of your life, then you're delusional. But then again, so is the majority of our fan base. You should know to expect this coming in. It's tough to make great food for 5k people.

We had a good time and left happy. No one in our group was complaining at all.

I'm not a complainer, I'm not miserable, I don't want to fire Miles, I don't call LSU players garbage. I'd like to think I'm a pretty good fan. And I can honestly say it wasn't worth 50$ a head. In hindsight, I would have sat at a bar. The AC, BTE, and the bathrooms were nice so it wasn't miserable. Some people are going to complain under any circumstances, but there is some legitimacy to the complaints, especially the lines for drinks and food.

I didn't mean to offend you or your family. I'm sorry. I meant the complainers in general.

So your saying that it was mismanaged and whoever was in charge was just letting as many people in as possible instead of stopping at a manageable number?
