Sure, and you're so versed and expert on the matter that you can't even spell "Bernanke".

Is that what you need to believe in order to feel better about yourself?

don't know why they have to include the golf part. its not needed really. the fact that he took that long to make a decision is bad enough. adding the golf angle just makes it look like they're reaching.

Oh cmon. If he goes ahead with the raid and soldiers die, he would have been crucified.

What you are saying is that he shouldn't do anything, because he's afraid of reactions?
That gives a new slant on the old leadership thingy don't you think?

I told yall it was held up at the White House. Then when the coast is clear, he goes in so later they can say we missed him by a few days.
Ob is one evil motherfricker.

That is EXACTLY how Hitler came to power in Germany.
Things were bad there and the people looked for a leader. One thing he could do was lead, problem is he lead Germany straight into Hell.

Rex hasn't mentioned how great things are for minority employment yet?
Because White House Jesus cares.
And by the way he took a month to make that call to rescue that failed. Did anyone mention that The Coward in Chief had to be shoved into the Bin Laden raid yet, because he couldn't make that decision either? Dear Leader has failed.

I apologize for White House Jesus not being able to make a decision. White House Jesus has the Midas touch. Everything he touches turns to shite
Eh.. He'd have to really screw up in the next two years to be worse than Reagan (I guess he could sell the Taliban a bunch of weapons then use the money to arm ISIL that and running like a punk would be Reagan solution) much less sink to W's level.

quote:Obama being concerned about the ramifications of US troops being killed or captured in Syria is somehow a problem? Really?
According to a new Sunday Times report by Toby Harden, "Pentagon sources said Foley and the others might well have been rescued but Obama, concerned about the ramifications of US troops being killed or captured in Syria, took too long to authorise the mission."
I, for one, would damn well share his concern.
The author does not understand that concern?
Really?
He does not share that concern?
What would be a higher decapitation prize: a journalist, or a US service man?
I'd suspect the latter.
Foley's death is horrible, but so would be the death of any soldier(s) rescuing him. Given the limited amount of info, I'm willing to give the C-in-C a pass on this one.

Positively. The stock market has more than doubled, health care is available to almost everyone, 60 straight months of positive job growth, no major terrorist attacks against the USA, Bin Laden killed... all that despite Republican obstructionism.

quote:maybe, but leaders make tough decisions regardless of the consequences. It appears to me he makes the decisions based on the safest political outcome not the whether or not it is the right thing to do.
Oh cmon. If he goes ahead with the raid and soldiers die, he would have been crucified.
If you remember he passed on OBL twice before Garrett convinced him to go ahead with the plan to take him out.
It would not surprise me if he passed on rescuing Foley until he needed some positive political gain. When that time came the intel was outdated.
Sometimes leaders have to make unpopular decisions and be willing to suffer the consequences. Obama seems to make the safest possible political decisions on foreign policies. He is reactive and not proactive. Why in the world would the white house even release the failed rescue attempt of Foley? Because it was more important for Obama to look like he at least tried to rescue him. In Obama's mind intentions are more important than results.
