Anyone been yet? Looks like it opened Aug. 1. Would it be a decent spot to watch the Saints game tonight?

I've been a couple times. It's alright. I've only been on Friday and Saturday nights, and it's been really busy. The layout doesn't lend itself to the number of people that have been there. Poor circulation (person, not air) and it's really loud. Beer selection is decent. Bourbon and beer prices seemed a dollar or two high.

We went last night after dinner at Brigtsen's. I normally wouldn't go but was in the area. After checking out the two spaces we decided to hang out at the bar at Oak rather than at Ale due to the high volume of bros and the close quarters. It's quite tiny and even though it has TVs I personally don't think it's a good spot for watching sports. For watching ladies on the other hand....

Oak >>>>>>> Ale
I did both on consecutive nights when I lived in that hood. I'm a beer guy, but Oak was handily better. The small plates were quite tasty, if a hair overpriced, and the two bottles I enjoyed were quite nice. It was mid-week so neither was incredibly crowded.

Never been to either but I hear Oak is where all the milfs hang out.
Passed by Ale a few times and it's always been packed. Good for them.

Surprised to hear you say that Bottomland.
I haven't been in a few weeks, but was unimpressed with their beer on tap. Perhaps their bottle selection is better, but I haven't gone that route yet.

It's bragging to allude to the fact that I paid a whole $35 bucks for dinner?

The bottle selection isn't all that bad. Not great, but I found some selections I was happy with.

Thanks for the input fellas. Doesn't sound like a good spot to watch the game so I'll go another time.
There's also some random arse walking parade on Oak tonight at 7 pm so that's another reason...

shite. Avoid at all costs tonight. Mid Summer Mardi Gras is a damn mess.
Try to hit Ale for a happy hour on a weekday.

If by mess you mean awesome, then yeah. I'm a fan of MSMG.
