....there are two ways that statement can be used:

One: a black man who represents all those qualities of the finest people and culture. Those who have worked to make their families and this country prosperous.

Two: The way it is used to describe Holder and his ilk...race mongers who thrive on preaching victim hood to a race of people so as to keep them believing that they cannot raise themselves and their families up and out of poverty alone...

This piece of crap and his boss....and blacks or whites like him are the lowest form of humanity....and deserve nothing but contempt.

He is not just any Black person. Eric Holder is Attorney General of the United States, the entire United States. Wearing his "ethnicity" in a way that impacts justice, or even suggests an impact on justice, is obscene in his role.

Yea and to date the image of the black man has definitely not been elevated by those serving in high offices IMHO.

So, Angry Black Man Trackfan says it's okay for me to wear my ethnicity on my sleeve? Angry Black Man Trackfan says it's okay for me to express pride in my heritage?

Great!!! Since Angry Black Man Trackfan has given me his seal of approval, I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to say:

(1) Thank you, white people, for creating 95% of the innovations, inventions, and technological advancements which have benefitted ALL PEOPLE. Thank you for the printing press, for the writings of Shakespeare, for electricity, indoor plumbing, planes, trains, and automobiles, computers, radio, television, telephones, and a million other things.

(2) Thank you, Dr. Jonas Salk, for finding a cure for polio. If you were still alive, I would send you a dozen boxes of twinkies.

(3) Thank you, Caucasians, for always running to help other people, regardless of race, when a disaster strikes. Even though political correctness has characterized you as being racist and cold-hearted, the fact that the overwhelming majority of folks who respond to a disaster, like the earthquake in Haiti, are white....well, that just doesn't fit the narrative, does it?

(3) Thank you George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and all of our other Founding Fathers for creating the foundation which helped establish the greatest country on the face of the earth.

Well, I could keep going, but I'll simply conclude by thanking Angry Black Man Trackfan for giving me permission to be proud of my heritage. I must admit, speaking as a Caucasian American, it really felt great to take a brief respite from what 2014 politically correct America expects me to say, which is, "I'm sorry."

He and Obama never take that sleeve off.

I'd bet that you find it disgusting if a White did the same thing. :)

As an adult, I have worked hard trying to understand racial problems in America. White people have a lot to answer for, but we need solutions. We need healing. Holder does not help.

I don't see Holder and Obama the same way I see Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson when it comes to dealing with race, but I guess these things are in the eyes of the beholder, and it seems many folks here make no distinction between them. IMO, Holder has never crossed the line of race-baiting, and the only time Obama may come close is when he commented on the Skip Gates case, which I felt was none of the President's business.

Not that it matters as he is a "Black man" & no one tests his DNA when they see him. They see a Black man.

Ever since Obama was elected, Angry White Guy has become the self-appointed arbiter of Blackness.

Honestly... I've never another AG make such a statement. Alberto Gonzales never said "I am a Latino" with implication that he would handle cases differently as a result.

You're making a nonexistent comparison as far as I can recall. But please--if you can find similar cases of an AG making such statements in recent years I will listen.

I'm not talking about the very small list of people who have been the U.S. Attorney General, I'm talking people in general.

That's pretty bad that he has to remind them he's black!

You're without question, the most racist person on TD.com. I feel sorry for you.

Wow.

So when Holder brings up race in nearly every response to criticisms of him or Obama, that is not crossing the line?

When Obama refers to "typical white people", that is not crossing the line?

How many of the people who have no problem with Holder personalizing the shooting of Michael Brown, are screaming for the DA to recuse himself, because his father, a cop, was killed by a black man?

The thing is, with all of the injustices of the past perpetrated towards the AA community, we have 2 choices.

One is to go forward, and vow that such injustices never happen again. Or, seek retribution by punishing those who had absolutely nothing to do with those injustices.

It's pretty obvious the choice Holder and Obama have made.

The Attorney General of the United States of America is supposed to be a color blind official speaking with a fact of everyone being on equal ground in the eyes of the law. He is supposed to speak impartially without any bias. Holder proclaiming himself as a black man suggests that he is not impartial and not above giving black people special treatment. He's violating the unspoken rule of carrying yourself with integrity and impartiality when he is in a position of power and authority. Holder's statement compromises true justice.

This has already been proven with cases like the Black Panthers using bats at polling booths to intimidate voters and Holder giving them a pass.
