yeah, because you have to beat an SEC school to win the championship!

Rich Rodriguez as an example of their coaching depth? Nice try.

SEC has been down a little recently but even though we are down we are still playing for national championships. It is very likely one SEC team makes it to the playoff this year maybe two.

let's compare

Based on power rankings LINK
LINK
SEC #1 Bama vs Pac 12 #1 Oregon I give the advantage to Bama, their D is always strong.
SEC #2 Auburn vs Pac 12 #2 UCLA. I think Auburn is to high this year. UCLA with slight edge but this is close.
SEC #3 USCe vs Pac 12 #3 Stanford. Another toss up.
SEC #4 UGA vs Pact 12 #4 USC. Georgia easy, USC is overratted.
SEC #5 LSU vs Pac 12 #5 Arizona State. I give it to LSU but this may be a toss up
SEC #6 Ole Miss vs Pac 12 #6 Washington. Ole Miss looks good this year, Washington could surprise but on a neutral field Ole Miss wins.
SEC #7 MSU vs Pac 12 #7 Oregon State. Mississippi State may sneak up on people, I think they win this game.
SEC #8 Mizzou vs Pac 12 #8 WSU. Mizzou gets this one they lost some powerful recievers but I don't think WSU is that good.
SEC #9 Florida vs Pac 12 #9 Arizona. Florida is a sleeper they would easily beat Arizona.
SEC #10 Texas A&M vs Pac 12 #10 Utah. Even with how bad Texas A&M would be this year they would still take this game.
SEC #11 Tennessee vs Pac 12 #11 Colorado. Pretty sure Colorado sucks, Tennessee would win.
SEC #12,#13,#14 Vandy, Ark, UK vs Pac #12 Cal. I think the SEC would still have the advantage here, even though Vandy Ark and UK aren't great they could still beat the worse of the Pac 12.

So Top to bottom I think the SEC is better.

If you put the top 3 SEC teams vs the top 3 Pac 12 teams put them in a round robin it would be split but advantage SEC.

once you get #4 and down the advantage shifts to the SEC. SEC lacks top talent this year but middle to low teams are still good enough to compete with most teams in the SEC.

SEC > Pac 12.

Plus

Top 10 SEC 3 Pac 12 2
Top 25 SEC 8 Pac 12 6

SEC > Pac 12
