The 10th doctor was by far my favorite but I did like Amy Pond better than any of the 10th doctors companions. I haven't watched this past season at all.

How much screentime did the new doctor get in the finale and what should we expect from him?

He got about 15 seconds.

He's going to be older, ruder and more serious. He's not going to be as worried about pleasing everyone as Smith was.

I also like Asylum of the Daleks as my Clara episode.

I feel HARD for Clara in that episode. I remember thinking, "She would be an AMAZING companion!"

And then she showed back up in "The Snowmen". *swoon*

Clara has been great. It hit me hard when Amy left, but that might have been more because of the relationship between the Doctor and Amy. Usually I say Martha Jones is my favorite companion, I think they gave her the best character arc, from med school resident to alien-fighting UNIT agent/ranger/mercenary/whatever.

Getting to Twelve, Capaldi said the one companion he'd like to go back to revisit would be Susan, The Doctor's grandaughter and I agree. One of the most famous speeches in Doctor Who is about her, and I'd like to see where that could go.

I've been a fan since Tom Baker but it took me a bit to warm up to the reboot. Now I never miss an episode. I loved Billy Piper(Rose Tyler) more than Christopher Eccleston for a while but he grew on me. Though I loved Matt Smith, David Tennant is still my favorite of the reboot doctors. I too hate it when we have to say goodbye to a doctor or companion. I'm not ashamed to say I have shed more than one tear. I'm ever hopeful though and can't wait for Saturday!

Absolutely. Very excited.

If you're a fellow Whovian, what's your favorite episode/story arc? Who's your favorite Doctor? Have you watched any Classic Who? (I've watched bits and pieces of Doctors 1-4. I actually love the 1st Doctor, Hartnell.)

Probably blink, although city of death is a close second.
My favorite doctor is tough to call. Probably 10 but I really enjoy 11. Tom baker though is tough to top. I think 9 could have been truly great with more than 1 season.

Classic who I've really enjoyed so far:
City of death
The cave of andronazi
The talons of weng chiang
Genesis of the daleks
These are top overall arcs

Also liked:
Pyramid of mars
Three doctors
Spearhead from space

Favorite new series:
Blink
Empty child / doctor dances
Silence in the library
Waters of mars
The girl who waited
The day of the doctor
Eleventh hour
Vincent and the doctor
Midnight
Angels take manhattan
42
Rings of akhaten
Girl in the fireplace
Impossible astronaut
Doctors wife

I'm thrilled about Capaldi as the Doctor, so I'm very excited.

I'm guessing based on your last question that the first 2 are about New-Who.

So:

Family of Blood 2 parter

Blink

The Library 2 parter

The Doctor Dances 2 parter

Midnight

Vincent and the Doctor

A Good Man Goes to War

50th

(personal reasons) Cold War and Asylum of the Daleks

Who's your favorite Doctor?

Tennant (scroll for my +Classic rankings)

Have you watched any Classic Who?

A ton. Hated Pertwee. The only one I didn't like at all.

My list (to piss people off again):
quote:

Davison
Tennant
Troughton
T. Baker
McCoy
C. Baker
Smith
Hartnell
McGann (based only on length)
Ecclestone
Pertwee

To piss more people off:

A Nightmare in Silver is the first and only time the Cybermen have been scary/threatening.

Amy Pond is the worst New-Who Companion. The worst Classic is Romana II

That's because Neil Gaiman wrote that episode and he's a genius.

He also wrote The Doctor's Wife.

Sarah Jane Smith.

Note: You can get concept art to show up of her and K-9 by using the Konami code on part of the BBC site.

You could make an argument for Tegan and Jamie as well. And, if you count him, the Brigadier.

If you're being a bitch and mean the nurse from the movie (or Handles)...

Depends how you count. Tegan had the longest time. Jamie had the most episodes. Amy Pon had the most stories.
