I can't help you on the hotels. For food, what do you like and what do you want to spend?

Stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in West Monroe. Eat at Cotton or Nonna in Monroe.

I wouldn't consume too many beers on the East side and drive back to the West side, fwiw. The boot legged thugs are aching to make an example out of folks.

Mohawk seafood tavern on Louisville ave is my fav place. Food is dynamite old school seafood. Looks of it wont make your panties wet, but the servers dont wear taxi cab driver hats either.

Cotton is a stop you'll need to make. The other joints detailed above can be very good, also. Don Tomas is very good hole in the wall messican. It has a good taco selection.

The Rogan Josh at Taste of India is damn good on the evening menu.

Very good Thai and Vietnamese be had at Rawz on 165, and the sushi isn't bad, either.
