Well, I saw recently that he was suspended @ Bama.

I haven't paid attention to him since.

As of 8/7, 2 of the 3 allegedly suspended players returned to practice. Neither of them was Tim Williams.

"But that's not even a team rule coach." "It is now and you violated it."

And as of 8/11, TW still wasn't at practice:

"We talkin' practice?"

Thanks, I knew he had an unusual name. Believe he had a seriously ill parent.

Yes I think he's currently suspended for violation of team rules. That doesn't mean he had been kicked out.

I said the rumor is he's transferring. Didn't say he was being booted.

I think the answer for everyone here should be that this is an LSU coaching decision as they will be privy to information we do not have.

That's a very Blake Andrews-ish response. You could say that on half the threads on this board.

Wrong, Duckie.

This board is loaded with posters bearing inside info.

Lots of funny responses in this thread. I feel like bumping some threads from a couple years ago before it was clear that we weren't getting Williams but I don't care enough to do so.

I wouldnt take him. The staff cooled on him big time later in his original recruitment for some reason. And I know a few kids who plays with TW at UHigh who said he was physically gifted beyond belief, but lazy as hell. Do not want. I also do not think Saban would allow TW to transfer to LSU. Saban is not Miles in that regard.

ETA: I knew Phelon his freshman year. Anybody know how the heck he ended up at Bama and not Auburn, like the linked article said he was intent on?

I mean, there are plenty of things to discuss (his abilities as a player, character, other cool facts) but I have no idea why he was suspended, so ... that's my default.

Isn't it weird that the majority of top guys who shun LSU for an SEC school OOS have character issues?

Lying Luther
Robbie Green
Tim Williams
Darrington Sentimore

etc..

Grades?

If you are a good enough player there are ways to fix "grade problems". I'm sure every team in the SEC has guys who are probably borderline illiterate who, because they are good enough players, figure out a way to make the necessary grades.

Schools will work with guys who try. Generally, if the kid is going to class, turning in assignments, and has tutors requesting info from the instructor on his behalf then they'll go ahead and pass them even if the guy has no business being in a college classroom.

There are a few who just don't go to class. Those are the difficult ones to deal with and not every instructor is just going to roll over from pressure from the AD office to pass a kid.

He's getting processed. If he was going to be a difference maker on the field, Saban would have found a way to make it work out for him whatever the issue is. So no, we don't need Bama's castoffs with the way recruiting has picked up for us recently.
