Is a video profile of yourself appropriate when sending resumes?

Back in the day, just the thought of including a photograph was a no-no when submitting a resume to a prospective employer. Fast forward to 2014 - with all the quick and easy technology to get it done - how would an online video profile of yourself (YouTube or Vimeo link) be perceived by the HR Department when included with a resume?

Depends on the company, IMO...

Innovative tech-related or marketing company? Sure.

75 yr old blue chip? Nah.

Unless you are applying for a job where looks are important (like modeling) then no.
