I do not see him ever getting the floor game from the perimeter of a Durant like some have said

Me either.

What I think is since a lot of AD's spot up jumpers come right at, or a step beyond the key, he will likely start stepping back and busting a bit more 3's. Durant is more of a volume 3 guy.

Again, AD's strength on the perimeter is his quickness. If he starts making more 3's, look out. That'll just force the defender to guard him closer allowing Davis to blow by him creating all kinds of trouble.

This is the flaw in the let him shoot 3s to open spacing logic. Davis already commands constant attention from defenses. Moving him out to the 3PT line wouldn't change that. Evans already gets to the rim whenever he wants. It's how you manipulate those facts to create shots for others that counts

I don't think anyone is talking about making it an offensive focus for us, but there could absolutely be situations and plays where he could slip behind the arc in the corner while Tyreke breaks down the defense. He already posts along the baseline in many of those situations, why not back up a foot and half where the shot is worth more?

Yeah. I agree with both of you.

I'm all for him adding 3pt range, like I said before it's just smart. I don't think it will open up space in the way I've understood some of the comments in this thread. But it will be useful and just a nightmare for defenses.

If he can pick and pop from 3, there is no scheme that can handle his dive threat and his 3pt threat without compromising itself. Dirk on steroids.

Im just going to sit back and watch what he does next. He has consistently surprised in the NBA. I have no idea what he will or should do next. But I'm sure it will be specfrickingtacular
