Problem was you went in with the idea you should get magic in a burger.

All it should be is expecting a good burger with quality ingredients and above average customer service.

I wouldn't call it average personally.

This. Put in the proper context, that it competes with McDonald's, Wendy's, Carl's Jr, Burger King, etc., it's clear that In-N-Out is a cut above the rest. To blame "it not living up to the hype" is a cop-out because you allowed internet exaggeration to influence what should be tempered expectations. It's a fast food joint, not a fine dining restaurant.

As others have said, it's a better than average fast food burger, and they do have great customer service. I think their fries are absolutely terrible, and covering them with Thousand Island dressing doesn't appeal to me.

It's not really that clear to me. I agree that it is better than most of the places you mentioned but I'd rather just go to Whataburger next time to be honest.

Why? You think Whataburger tastes better than In-N-Out burger? I've had both several times and can say w/ confidence that INnO > Whatbgr without a doubt.

It's good, but like others have said it doesn't live up to the hype that everybody makes it out to be. I personally think Rally's is better. And the long lines suck.

Seemed like average fast food to me

I've had the opportunity to go there a couple of times, but never did. It's ground meat on a bun. I couldn't see how one fast food place could make ground meat magical. There's probably about 200 places in BR where you can get a tasty burger.

Too many spots to get a really good burger to waste a meal here, or McDs, BK, CJr, etc.

That's cool. If that's what you like that's fine. I prefer Whataburger. And actually, if I was in Dallas again and wanted a fast food burger I'd probably prefer Braum's.

Good point.

R2R, I take back what I said earlier. I agree with you. In-N-Out is the greatest fast food burger there ever has been or will be.

Don't judge In-N-Out based on the one that is a few years old in Dallas...

Sorry. I don't need it explained to me that the place is fast food. I realize that. I just expected it to be better than some other fast food places I've had in the past and I didn't find that to be the case.

Well there's like 3 or 4 of them in the Dallas area now. We are talking about chain fast food though. How much time does one need to flip a burger and drop fries in a fry basket?

I was trying to decide if I like Whataburger or In-N-Out better. Then I realized I don't have to decide. I enjoy both.
