Democrat Hero .....
Here are a couple things not mentioned in the above link ...
Of course, she was claiming the whole timme that she was not drunk. She also claimed she only had a couple of glasses of wine.
Of course, that's not what she told the cops who pulled her over ...
Can't wait for Rex, Spidey, VOR, and VB to come to the defense of this Democrat hero.

According to Sheppard, Lehmberg's first-time DWI charge was enhanced from what would have been a class B misdemeanor (punishable by up to six months in jail) to a class A misdemeanor (punishable by up to a year in jail) because her blood-alcohol content was .23 – nearly three times the legal limit. The charge is upped to a class A when BAC is greater than .15.

Lehmberg was arrested last Friday, April 12, and charged with drunken driving after a motorist called 911 shortly before 11pm to report an erratic driver on FM 620 near Comanche Trail. The driver of the car in question was Lehmberg, who told a sheriff's deputy that she'd had two vodka drinks earlier in the evening; an open container of vodka was found in the passenger compartment of the car, according to an arrest affidavit.

I abhor local politics like this and the Landrieu flight "scandal". Both sides do it. It's awful and I love when it backfires.

Being in the Republic of Austin in Commie County, Texas...she knew she could get away with it. Integrity Schmegrity!

These phony/petty indictments are a reaction when people don't "like the consequences of an election." Same thing happened to Kay Bailey Hutchison and former Sen Ted Stevens. Stevens conviction, which was later overturned, is the reason Mark Begich (D) ended up as our Senator.
Politically motivated prosecutors seem to be the new reaction to the consequences of elections.

It's up to the voters to vote her out. The governor is not a dictator, he can't demand an elected politician resign or else.

Link to the law the Grand Jury says he violated?

he's not being indicted over someone getting a DWI, he's being indicted for (allegedly) abusing his powers as governor. I have no idea if he did or didn't and after living in Austin for a few years I can definitely see something like that happening. He's been governor for so long he's developed an "above the law" attitude IMO and his penchant for playing political games (see the Bill Powers saga) is just as bad as anyone else's. But like i said, i have no idea if he did or didn't break a law and unlike y'all I'm going to wait and see what happens before forming an opinion.
I don't know why this board is assuming there's nothing to these charges (other than the fact that they happen to agree with Rick on the issues) but if it truly is a baseless indictment, that will come to light. Let's just wait and see what happens.
This board's reaction to this has been so overwhelmingly partisan, it's just yet another example of why i don't take you people seriously.

Does Rick Perry have to actually turn himself in to booking and take a mugshot?
What a phony trumped up charge this is.

Why not just pocket veto and avoid all this crap?

Does Perry think that GWB was unfit to be in office since he had a DUI?
