There's plenty of racism in LA and elsewhere, but his "fears" are ridiculous.
And Duke's votes had a lot to do with people who vote R no matter what combined with Edwards being a famous crook.
And it was still a 60-40 election result, in favor of Edwards. That's a fricking landslide by most people's definition.

I know that any talk about black racism doesn't fit in with your narrow-minded agenda, medicalgrind, but the truth is the truth.
Are you ever going to give me a link to data backing up these "truth" claims?

Perhaps instead of attacking me, you should be asking your own people to act responsibly.
My own people? I don't know any of them.

PS - and, don't worry. Most white people don't even know how black people act when they are in the majority. I do, though.
Well aren't you just so special

David duke was 23 years ago and received less than 40% of the vote against one of the most corrupt politicians over the last half century.. The whole election , not just him was an indictment on the political state of louisana..
I find this mans rant completely riddled with paranoia but I'm not in a position to walk in his shoes..

What a huge crock of crap.
Something tells me those exact same stories have been posted several times concerning different states. Look how often the writer uses the term "in Louisiana". The wording is a dead give away for a fill-in-the blanks.
The entire wording is suspect. The writer's "I have not come to praise Caesar" approach is trite.
I could go on from there but I think you get the idea.

His fears certainly seem way overblown to me, and I probably grew up a decade or more before he did. I said he sounds like a sissy, but he actually comes across as a bit of a paranoid.

There were four Republicans running in the jungle primary--including a fairly useless but in no way terrible incumbent. No one had to "choose between him and the crook" to get his arse in the runoff.

Back to my original post, Duke won over 50% of the white vote, and he bragged about it after the fact. It was a landslide because the state is 33% black and I can imagine that they showed up in force for that one.

Duke got 31% of the R votes in the primary, which effectively had 2 other contenders, Clyde Holloway, who took a lot of Roemer's grassroots votes and Buddy "truth in government" Roemer himself, who was incredibly corrupt. Just ask a few of his "poker buddies."
In the end, it was a combination between lost votes to Clyde, racism (mostly in the north) and the fact that the religious nut job right (the backbone of LA republicanism) never accepted Buddy as one of theirs.
It's embarrassing, but there was never any way in hell that Duke was going to be governor.

Yeah and most of them are over 80.
Link? That election was in 1990. You're saying "most" of the Duke voters were over 56 at the time?

Approximately what portion of the population was engaged in this activity? Please provide evidence supporting your answer.

Well first, I'm glad we can discuss this civilly. Sincerely. Second, you may have been old enough or connected enough to really understand the dynamics of the race better than an 8-year old kid whose main guidance came from his [irate] Republican parents and apoplectic liberal extended family, so I'm interested in your insights.
How was Roemer worse than fricking David Duke? I've read up on the race. I read his bio going from his antics at LSU to his election to the La statehouse to his evolution from Klansmen to crooked White Nationalist. How was Roemer that bad enough to justify Duke? The entire National GOP thought we'd lost our fricking minds.

Kind of how Phil Robertson never saw any "mistreatment" of black people...except for silly things like not having the right to vote?

Here's the quote in the article you're looking for;
quote:
Among black Americans, 31% think most blacks are racist, while 24% consider most whites racist and 15% view most Hispanics that way.
Blacks think blacks are more racist than whites.
Here's another anecdotal story; I went to East St. John for high school. I can tell you first hand that the racism against whites was very common.
It DEFINITELY went both ways, but to act like it's not happening is willful ignorance.

I'm sure it was. Are you mature enough now to understand that there is possibly a huge amount of history behind such a thing?

When did I deny this? I just wanted objective data supporting KCT's claim that its a fact/truth that "black people are far more racist than white people in 2014 America."
I think some people need a lesson here as to the difference b/w facts and opinions.

No.
Why should I be held responsible for something I never took part in?
Are you mature enough to now understand that an individual should not be held responsible for someone else's actions?

Agree 1000%.
I have gotten into many a debate with posters on this board who tried to tell me profiling blacks was good police practice because blacks were more likely to commit crimes. Yet they would also make similar comments to yours above, which is obviously not compatible.

Hence, the qualifier "anecdotal".

Check out FBI "hate crime" stats. I don't even like the concept of "hate crimes" as a way to dish out punishment, but in this context, they are helpful. Also, don't you find it a little strange that more studies like the one I linked aren't being done? No snark intended In that question. It's just weird that so often racism is talked about, but simple studies like the one I linked are few and far between.

I have a white friend whose wife is black. Both he and his wife say that blacks are more racist than whites here in Baton Rouge.
