ETA: In other news, I finally reached Vanguard Level 2 (bumped me up to just shy of 27) and got myself a fugly Titan helmet with sweet stats. Also now up to 12 Strange Coins and 19 motes of light

Am I the only person in the world who just doesn't understand all the negativity towards this game? Although the story falls well short of what I'd like it to be, I have thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. Its kind of funny to see the bad ratings it is getting (76.5 on Game Rankings).
For a good laugh, here is a list of games that are rated higher than destiny on GameRankings.com:
Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (78.1)
Velocity 2X (87.8)
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution (76.6)
C'mon, man!
Edit: Feel free to add other interesting finds to this list also. This is just the first three I could find in a few minutes.
For a good laugh, here is a list of games that are rated higher than destiny on GameRankings.com:

Well most sites don't consider a score in the 70's to be bad, that's just public perception. It's because of the hype and everything people thought they would get in some ways. It also missed in some areas like the story. I like it too but understand a lot of the criticism.

Have to consider the number of reviews. These games don't have a large variety of reviewers so it doesn't have as many opportunities to get bad reviews.
That said, Velocity 2X is fantastic. Don't be hating.

No, I don't get it either. The story does lack a little compared to the hype, but they have a bunch of time to fix that with expansions and such. I mean it gets compared to Halo's story but when Combat Evolved came out it's story wasn't leaps and bounds more in depth in comparison.

This. Velocity is amazing.
Destiny has been the most fun I've had playing co-op in a very long time. I regularly lose track of time playing this game.

I have been on and off with this one but i managed to pour several good hours into it last night and managed to hit level 16.

I finally hit 24 today (I meant to say 23 in my previous post) and realized there is another lvl 28 strike.....that mofo' cryptarch needs to give up the legendaries.
