You wanna know how I know that this "scout" is an idiot.....
Says
and
which are completely contradictory.
Says

His receivers are not as dynamic anymore
and

Cooks should be electric in this system
which are completely contradictory.

Obviously Scouts can't focus on every aspect of every team team the way fans can, but this is such a classic statement from a guy who is just looking at the last version of a team he saw play live and hasn't had the chance to observe the guys brought in to replace the guys who left, yet.
quote:
His receivers are not as dynamic anymore, the running backs without Darren Sproles are not special and the offensive line is very, very ordinary.

sure he could. The scout's point is that he has lost a step, and he has.
Yeah, I want to see him possibly get more physical after the catch. The theme you always see with older players lasting in any sport is, how do they reinvent themselves to compensate for losing speed as you age? I think he has to do something differently this year to stay competitive.

New Orleans re-signed RT Zach Strief and it’s amazing that this will be his third contract because he is ‘just a guy.’

What other reasons would the Falcons suck for besides a shaky OL, lack of playmakers on offense, no passing rushing threats, and a subpar LB group?
You think ATL's Oline sucks, we don't have any playmakers on O and we have a subpar LB group? Interesting.
I can't wait for week 1.

I don't feel like this scout has seen us play a single snap based on this analysis.

Just wanna say these "scouts" sound like random fans who are basing most of their opinions on last year and what the media says about teams.
There was NOTHING in there that was "scouty". Everything was bland opinion more than fact(though some of it will turn out to be factual; even blind squirrels sometimes find a nut).
And that's not just for the part about us. The stuff for all the teams sounded like fan speak.

I would pretty much agree with most of the assessment. I do think that Colston has lost a step, but he was never a speed guy anyway. His talent is finding the seam and making a big target. The backs will have to prove themselves but I do see improvement with the O-line run blocking since the later part of last year and really think we will see some consistency in our run game.

Is mm2316) reaeeealy why you can't wait?

So you might derive false hope from a rivalry game that is pretty much always close?

yea our WR's created no separation last year, so I can see his point. But he should have some foresight. Stills in year 2, along with Cooks brings a different dimension than what we had last year.
Posted on 8/14/14 at 10:24 pm to Lester Earl
Plus Colston clearly improved as the year went on. Stills somehow is the forgotten man here considering how good he was for a rookie. Between him and Cooks, we are a bit reliant on youth, though. I think you were with me on the Britt bandwagon, and he has supposedly looked great in camp.
Posted on 8/14/14 at 10:28 pm to THRILLHO
Yea i liked Britt
The addition of Cooks will really let us see what Stills can do. He had to be a deep guy last year, but having Cooks will allow him to lineup all over.
It's going to take pressure off Graham, first and foremost. But also Colston, as well as our RBs (who had to catch 150 balls last year).

His WRs were never dynamic.

Spot on . I believe the addition of Cooks will really benefit the receivers and allow the backs to focus a little more on the running game.

You are right. But his receivers were consistent and very precise on their routes. Almost always on the same page with Brees.
Posted on 8/14/14 at 11:09 pm to THRILLHO
Colston is so underrated and overlooked it's ridiculous. If just anyone could come in and be another Colston someone would have done it already.
Fact is he has produced every year he has been here. The guy's numbers are steady and pro bowl worthy(or close to it) every year.
He finished 22nd in catches among WRs(while missing a game, being eased into another, and being injured more than half the year) and 26th in yards. That puts him in the "number one receiver" category.
Add to that that Graham had 86 catches and 1,200+ yards and was our primary receiver, and then you had 2 backs catch 70+ passes, it's amazing this "old" receiver who is "close to finished" did as well as he did.

Moore was the only receiver who truly struggled getting separation. Him not being here is no coincidence.

Disagree big time there. Only weak spot is at C, every other spot has an established very good player.

Tough to say Armstead is established yet, but his late season performance was impressive and he's obviously talented.
People that say Brees makes his OL need to look back at early 2007. He had some of the worst OL play I've ever seen (especially against Haynesworth/Titans) and started off with 1TD vs 9INTs IIRC.
