What to do about buying a faulty rod n' reel at Academy, last night?

Wasn't there some kind of discussion on here a year or so back about returnin' stuff to Academy and gettin' yer money back? I bought a high dollar combo rig last night and I expected it to work much, much better than it performed in the lake this morning. I can't afford to buy spensive stuff on my gubment check and it not work as advertised.
