Sounds like the viewer has to endure a lot to get to that end? Damn.

his character lost a child in "the world according to garp", one of the first movies he made ... fairly serious movie with some comedic moments ...

Williams said on Reddit that the original ending to the movie was a reincarnation concept.

What Dreams May Come is on my Top 5 ever. It's not about the story on the surface but rather the love one man has for his family being so strong that he would search heaven and hell to be with them. Strong stuff.

It's an incredible movie. Very different and beautiful visually. Robin is excellent in it and there are several scenes that strike serious emotion.

My wife hasn't seen it but I think she should, but I haven't been able to bring myself to watching since he passed.

Bump.

Just watched it. At least from point of eulogy scene to end. The visual effects are aged since it is a 16 year old movie. But DAMN it is dusty in my living room. Good to watch though.

I like that movie a lot BTW most people i speak to either dont like it or have never seen it.

I like it, as well. Cuba Gooding, Jr. was excellent in it as well - and it was very different from what each actor usually does. Anabella Sciorra was excellent as well.
