The short squeeze thread

I followed you on OUTR, but I got out a couple of bucks ago for a decent gain.

What do you think about RAX?

I would love for someone to track % of success on these calls.

I straddle PBR with OFRA to combine a short side differential play where my upside capitulation is 18.3% and downside capitulation is 1.2%. If I can do that consistently throughout the year I can circumvent the short sale rule and bypass my lipper index curve.

Not really a whole lot of shorts out there this week in Treasuries. In June you could reverse-repo out 10's up to -3%, and the past couple weeks 5's, 3's, and 2's have had spots of trading really special as well. Now the best is really some old 5's giving you ~30-40bs, then reinvesting at 7-8bps GC repo you've got ~45bps trade. Not bad considering the risk involved but definitely not the return you can get from reverse-repoing some corporate bonds or playing short interest in equities.

Don't play with equities a whole lot but for posters here I just ran short-interest ratios on the S&P 500. Below is everything >10:
