OT travelers...flying with three kids. Logistical advice sought.

Sup. My brother lives in Canada and we would like to visit. We have pretty much zero flying experience. None with kids. Any tips?
Would need to rent a van. Can you rent car seats? Send them on the plane with you? Two little kids for one seat? Do little ones need to be in their car seats on the plane? Kids would be 1/3/5 at time of travel.
Thanks for any help

Ship the car seats up to canada, before you go

You can check car seats/strollers with you for free. 1 yr old won't need a ticket as long as they are on your lap and don't need a seat.

Put the kids on a greyhound, you and the wife fly first class.

1 year old can sit in your lap. You can check the car seats. Strollers they can put at the bottom of the plane. They're used to handling this, and it's no big deal. There's no point in putting a kid in a car seat on a plane either.

I would make him visit us, or I would leave the kids behind.
Seriously man, three young kids is a complete hassle. The one-year-old will likely go into crying fits at takeoff and landing (its the changing air pressure causing it). Your three-year-old will likely throw a tantrum at some point. And your five-year-old will be too curious to take your eyes off in the airport.
Good luck.

Flying on the same flight as you and your kids is going to be a nightmare.

First of all, I'd like to wish a great trip with the little ones. Second, I hope they cooperate so you can enjoy yourself on your flight.
Now with that said you can go frick yourself and if you don't keep demi little bastards quiet I'll smack a ho. Good day.

I wouldn't consider that with even one kid. Good luck.

We brought our car seat for our two year old on the plane and it helped tremendously. I don't know if 5 is too old but I'd prob try it. Just put the 1 year old in your lap so you don't have to pay for a ticket and either check his/her car seat or just rent one from wherever you rent the car from.

I fly a lot with mine. They're 4 and 16 months. Been flying internationally with at least one since he was 18 months old. My daughter has been flying since she was 6 weeks old.
Best advice is do what you can to keep the peace. Pack snacks, pack fun candy, pack new toys - just get crap from the $1 section at Target, pack an Ipad with movies, pack sippy cups so they don't spill everywhere, pack lollipops, pack extra clothes for all of the kids and an extra shirt for you and your wife, you can't have too many diapers or wipes, pack Dramamine for Kids for the 5 year old
Board the plane as soon as you can. People pack their kitchen sink nowadays and you could run out of storage space for your stuff. You'll need to put your stuff away before they do.
Just do what you can to keep the peace and be a mindful traveler.
A lot of times when kids are being bad on a plane it's because they're dehydrated. If the flight is long make sure they're drinking water or juice.
Yes
Yes, you can check them. Idk if domestic (it's possible the airline will consider Canada a domestic flight) charge for them or not. They do not for international flights.
Best of luck to you.

Best of luck to you.

To prevent ear discomfort due to change in pressure, bring a bottle or pacifier for the baby and pop it in when you're about to take off or land. Lollipops or gummy snacks will help the older ones.

I've heard you can rent car seats through Enterprise.
