for shoulders I'm currently doing 4 sets 12 reps of one arm side db raises, front lat raise, seated rear delt, military press and barbell shrugs. i take a minute rest between sets.
i like this. Simple & basic.

One thing I started adding to shoulder day and like is wedging a barbell into the corner of the gym (where people do t-bar rows) and doing one arm presses

its actually the second phase of the overall workout. the first phase is a strength phase for a month. This phase is pushing the same weight each set but just limiting rest. I do shoulders tuesday, thursday and saturday. Tues and saturday are lighter days with thursday being the heavy day.

Not directed towards me, but I'll answer anyway lol...
5 lb plate arm circles and isolated rotator with 90 bend for about 1-2 mins
2-3 warmup sets of light military press

4 sets seated dummbell military press - shoot for 8 reps
3 sets barbell upright row superset with military press - shoot for 10 reps
3 sets cable lateral raise - 3 drop sets per arm , 10,7,5 reps

I use to hate it but got to liking it now that I have properly stretched them and worked my rotator cuffs. They use to hurt so bad and take so long to warm up.

My list of favorite to least is:
Arms
Chest
Back
Shoulders
Legs

Screw leg day! Box jumps, Hack squats, lunges, calf raises, stiff legged deadlift and leg press calves are the devil. I almost threw up yesterday and my body and the ability to move today are in a state of regret.

I like shoulders day. Standing military press is one of my favorite exercises.

The volume some of you all are doing for shoulders is staggering. I would suggest getting away from split routines but I am sure that will fall on deaf ears.

I have written this on the OT too many times to count and most refuse to believe it. The split routines you read about in BB magazines are BS much of the time and the rest of the time they are for professional lifters with many years if not decades of lifting and they are also taking massive amounts of testosterone that allows them to handle enormous volume. If you are clean and somewhat new to lifting, by that I mean under 3 years of hard training with a good routine, you would do MUCH better to follow a structured program like a 5x5 that has all of your lifts and poundage prepared for you for an entire training cycle?

How many of you don't have a print out of what poundage you will lift that day or how many sets you will perform? I would wager almost everyone who utilizes a split routine. Ever wonder why most guys can't even bench 315? The reason is that they have been going to the gym for a year or so and doing the same split with the same weights. They have been slapping 275 on the bar for 5 reps for 6 months and wonder why they can't ever lift more.

For what it's worth, my shoulder day is combined with my chest/tri day and is 1/2 "upper body" days. Im in the gym less than an hr and I know exactly how much I will be lifting that day and when I want to increase. For example, on chest for let's say dumbbell flat bench, I do 4 sets and shoot for 6-8 reps all for the same weight. No increasing, no decreasing. Must get 6 reps or go down in weight. Once I get to 8 reps on all 4 sets, time to increase weight by 5%. I take a simliar approach to nearly ever lift and have seen steady gains for the last 3 months. About to completely switch everything up and go to a pure barbell/olympic routine for a few wks to introduce something a little different. Im constantly rotating exercises as well.

You gotta forgive me, bro. What's a split routine? What's a 5x5? I'm new to this kind of stuff.
