Really? Even a poster on the first page admitted to numerous problems with his GMC. My brother use to have a dodge Dakota. Electrical system failed not once but TWICE on top on the Mississippi River bridge. Co-worker has a full size dodge and was hauling some items in the bed of his truck which caused heat shield to damage brake lines.

I have a 2012 Sierra SLT and it's been great. Have owned Ford and Toyota trucks before. They're all good, and they all have issues. No major problems in the GMC so far. My advice is drive them all and find the dealer that gives you the best deal. They're all making quality pickups these days

All I can tell you is we took my F-150 super crew from Houston to Charleston and back (2500 miles) and there is not an SUV or truck on the road that rides any better. At this point I couldn't convince myself to trust any GM product.

Dodge (now Ram) were more known for transmission issues...not electrical (trans issues are now a non-issue). Just because you had one that had electrical issues doesn't mean that every Dodge ever made is "known" for them. Same goes for any other make and model vehicle. Going by your logic, there is a poster here who could say "Ford's are known for electrical issues". Or, based on recent events, I could say "Fords are known for catching on fire". See how that works? It doesn't really. Stop posting stupid diatribe and post something worthwhile not 100% based on your biased opinion.
What OP needs to do is take a day and go to each dealership and test drive them all...narrow it down to what he likes best and what fits his needs, and then narrow it down to what fits the budget. The Sierra, Silverado, F150, Ram and Tundra are all excellent trucks.

Yeah I can fit a full size kennel, ice chest, golf clubs, groceries all on the back floor with the seat up and it never touches the carpet.

Any of the real four brands offering true full-sized pick-ups would be fine. Spec'd comparably is the only way to compare.
I've bought six new ones for business over the past 18 months; comparably equipped the cheapest has always been RAM, then Chevy then about a tie of Ford & GMC & Toyota.
The oldest truck in my fleet at present is a 2007 Dodge 1500 SLT with 230,000 miles on the 4.7L. It burns no oil and tracks perfectly. Everything works on the truck. It looks new. I can't bring myself to get rid of it.
I personally don't care for any one brand over the others, pretty is as pretty does.

It's pretty difficult to judge unless you've driven a truck 100k.
I still drive a crew cab '04 z71 with about 170k on it. I don't feel like spending a bunch of cash on a asset that will depreciate immediately It runs fine and I'll run it into the ground, but when the time comes I'm lookin at the 4-door F-150's.
