No medical reasons not to have them. Loves kids, nieces, nephews, etc. but just mutually decided to enjoy life and grow old with no kids. Will they regret it later in life or not?

Probably. To me, no reason to ever get married if you don't want kids

I imagine some do just as some parents have regrets

It's beta males and alpha wives.

The whole point of living is to spread your seed and have plenty of offspring. The more offspring, the more fit you are.

Didn't any of them take biology 101?

I bet the woman would regret it more than the man. You know motherly instincts and all.

I would say that's a decision they have both thought long and hard about and have discussed together as a couple.

Nothing wrong with realizing what is best for you as a married couple. Kids aren't for everyone.

Doesn't make sense to me but what business of it is mine. If they don't want kids then who cares. Their choice to make and deal with later in life if they wished they had them.

These couples started a lot of problems in this country. The reason why society didn't even consider gay marriage for so long was because people understood that marriages were meant to have kids.

But you know what made these childless couples possible in the first place, birth control.

Before birth control (and legalization of it), infidelity and divorce were much less common. You know why? People couldn't hide their mistakes.

You people are miserable

Almost as bad as annoying relatives who ask my wife and I when we are going to start having kids. Here's a novel idea, when we start popping out frick trophies we'll let you know. If we never decide to do it, then it's none of you or anyone else's business. The world would be a much better place if more people decided against having kids.

I said it earlier in this thread. But for most of human existence, there was never an option for a couple not to have kids.

My great aunt and uncle never regretted it. They traveled like maniacs and they ate regularly at Antoine's, Galatoire's and Arnaud's.

No issue with couples not wanting kids. Just have an issue when they call their dogs and cats their kids and treat them as such.

I know one couple who made the decision not to have kids and the consensus among family member is they are regretting it now. They are 2 high income professionals that wanted the freedom to party and travel at will. And that's what they got. What they also got was karaoke night on Wed at the local watering hole has lost it's luster (now at age 46), and everyone else they know is busy raising children and if they ask them what's up, that's what the friends and family will talk about. This couple may be glad they don't have to deal with what they see as the rigors of being parents, but to some degree, many feel that they know they are missing something.

To each, his/her own. But this Earth did not become so populated by accident. The vast majority of people bonded and married with the assumption to procreate.

These no-kids folks are breeding themselves right out of the gene pool.

It is their choice. I respect it, but do not understand it.

Nah they want regret it. When they are old together or one of them passes they will have the fin memories of great vacations and a little larger bank account to love them and share their last days with.

They will sit in their larger than they would have gotten with kids house and have long conversations with their photo albums about the special moments they had that make life worth living. They will look at their friends and neighbors in their age group with kids and watch the steady stream of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and think what suckers those people are for wasting all the money and time on others when they could have squeezed a couple more vacations in to Vegas or Europe instead of having children.

Then they will die alone thinking how awesome their choices are.
