nope - cause remember, since loki is ruling now - he can snag the gauntlet and stone at same time.

Either way I like the movie origin storyline a billion times more than that one

Marvel didn't have much of a choice in that matter.

-The Badoon killed Meredith Quill in the comics

-The rights to the Badoon are owned by Fox, as are the rights to the Shi'ar, Skrulls, and Starjammers

Nice that the Guardians didn't give a shite about the Collector enslaving people in 4x4 glass boxes. I found that to be a little odd.

Why? Their team consists of a bunch of criminals.

They're a bunch of outlaws, why would they care?

I could see Thanos stealing the gauntlet from Odin's vault and maybe beating/killing Loki (for real) with ease to show his power in the next Thor. Couple that with defeating the Guardians and he'd certainly be on the Avengers radar.

They don't really have a heros morals or anything

At that point they were all criminals with their own intentions with what they wanted to do.

great movie, I'm still processing it a little bit.

I thought the comedy was great but not over the top it played well into the movie. The stuff with his mom was great, it was behind the scenes for the entire movie but drove him. I love the dynamic of the 5 characters they worked well together. It is tough to sell a 5 team combo of people who have never met before. It seemed liked the went from not getting along to getting along.

Action was great they only had a couple of over the top fighting scenes but it wasn't bad.

Also I think Marvel is now just creating jokes out of their post credit scenes, half of these movies now don't really hint at anything.

yep

Quill was a thief just looking to make money
Gamora was trying to get back at Ronan same with drax
Rocket was also after money
Groot just followed rocket everywhere

when they wanted to trade that infinity stone, they all just wanted something for themselves, the slaves and animals behind glasses meant nothing.

So pretty much the crisis made them go from selfish to selfless.

note: the space imagery was amazing.

"There have been a lot of documents passed around about who Peter Quill's father is between a select two or three of us," says Gunn. "That's been part of the plan since the beginning, that's something I had to work out before we shot the screenplay. We wanted to make sure Yondu's place in everything made sense and it does, so it's all very specific stuff."

Importantly, Gunn had a major revelation for fans trying to work out who Peter Quill's father might be. "It's definitely not the character who it is in the comics, I'll say that much."

Some people are thinking starfox might be his dad in the movies....

Gamora wanted to sell it to get away from Thanos and Ronan

That's very smart. Marvel dropped a big bag of meh on us with the father reveal in the comics.

I'm not feeling that at all but whatever Gunn decides to do, I'm sure it'll work just fine.

If Starfox is his dad, that's pretty fricked up. That would make Thanos his uncle.

I think Starlords dad will end up being a big bad, but that's just me

I like that it's not a huge sticking point in the comics so they can really do what they want with it

There was no "reveal" in the original comics (can't speak for the recent incarnation). It was literally his origin story and never a secret.

That said, there is absolutely no way they are putting Starfox in a movie. The guy's power is essentially being great at date rape. He has been called as "Marvel's most problematic Avenger". I think they'll want to keep Starfox on mothballs.

I'll be ticked if its Thanos. Please don't do that, Marvel. They just announced the Inhumans will go into production. That opens up Black Bolt as a possibility. Gorgon as a less likely possibility. Or, and I don't know the rights to this character... Captain Marvel. He's Kree and an old Silver Age character.

That would make me mad too, I guess we'll be seeing Falco, Slippy, and Peppy in the next guardians movie

Which Captain Marvel? Mar-Vell or his son Genus?
