We always go to destin.... Haven't been to gulf shores area in 20 years. Really good if you have small kids.
This place outside these fricking red a's everywhere isn't bad.

Water and weather has been great. Not too crowded.

Were you afraid there would be too many ethnic families or something?

The difference in distance makes Orange Beach/Gulf Shores worth it every time.

Were your expectations low to begin with or something? I've never seen anything wrong with OB.

OB/Gulf Shores has become an extension of Louisiana. I was at my GF's family condo in OB a couple of weekends ago trying to pick my guitar a little bit on the balcony in a relaxing manner, and was completely drowned out by some drunk cajun playing a loud arse accordion a few floors below.

When he was through, a gaggle of liquored up swamp folk assembled at the gazebo by the pool to listen to Uncle Boudreaux play his ukelele and group sing a 30 minutes version of some Zach Brown song.

in all seriousness, it was funny and entertaining.

Orange Beach is okay, beaches can be dirty as f though.

The only advantage Gulf Shores has over Destin IMO is less traffic.

I've probably spent close to 300 nights in the Florida panhandle(Pensacola -> Panama City) but not one on the AL gulf coast. Family has been going to 30A for over 50 years, AL was never an option growing up.

20 years of stubberness gets you nothing. GS has it all why waste gas and money on Fla.

So, after talking to about 100 people seems water here this week has been as clear and clean than it's ever been.
Ha, lucky me.

Back to 30a next year I suppose.
