Do you have a point or just pointing out a cool historical stat and ignoring the substance of the EO's?

You can make a million executive orders, as long as they are buoying the existing laws

But ignoring laws as written or changing dates of laws as written is BULL SHYT MR. HAND MAN.

You people are so stupid with your idiotic conjectures and buffoonish comparisons.

I have a friend who hunts and target shoots. He has fired WWWAAAAYYY more bullets than James Holmes did in that Colorado movie theater.

Just sayin'

To compare "number of" to "intent of" is asinine.

I'm not even one of those calling for anything in relation to Obama's EOs. But, JEEBUS.."____ used more of them" is silliness and childish.

In fact, I suspect that I fired more bullets in my lifetime than Sirhan Sirhan and John Wilkes Booth combined. It is the DIRECTION and AIM of those few bullets that are important.

it's not that quantity, it's the content.

Wide open border, de facto amnesty orders by the POTUS, and in the near future, "fundamental change" via demographic electoral power. And the 40% of Americans who want to keep their Constitutional Republic/Individual Freedom...are to do what, Sam? Just lay down a give up, after generations before us have died by the hundreds of thousands to preserve it?

Geez. Blowback is going to be a bitch, if they keep pushing this stuff! Ask Morsi...and the Brotherhood!

Did Calvin Coolidge slam his predecessor for doing so back when he was a senator like Obama did with Bush?

Bayou Sam and all other Obama supporters - why are you all so loyal to Obama? Do you know him personally? Related?

It doesn't concern you at all when elected officials violate the law and exceed their authority? Are you not concerned about guarding the freedoms we enjoy (or used to enjoy)?

Its no longer about Democrats vs Republicans - its now about pro-US Constitution vs anti-US Constitution. (anti-US Constitution means you are ok with redefining original intent.)

Coolidge was perhaps the best President of the 20th century.

So.

How many of them were overreaching and/or anti-constitutional?

Oh, well that makes it better then.

Hey, you know what else, Pol Pot killed 25% of the population of Cambodia. The communist dictatorship of North Korea has maybe killed off 3-5%. So it all evens out.

It's the quality/context of the executive orders, not the quantity at issue with Obama basically rewriting Obamacare and immigration law, etc.

More Americans died under Lincoln's watch than any other president, yet they built a monument to him.

You can pick and choose your numbers without context to make just about whatever argument you want.

There were thousands more bombs dropped by Dolittle than by Tibbets. What's your point?

I think this has already been adequately discussed for the most part, but just to make this point (for what feels like the millionth time on this board, since "X President issued more orders than Obama!" seems to be a commonly recurring topic), there has been a downward trend in total orders for a long time. They peaked during World War 2. Back in Coolidge's day, orders were commonly used for routine administrative purposes. You see tons of them doing things like granting people specific exemptions from retirement. In the 40s and 50s, and even somewhat today, you saw them all the time being used to establish temporary boards to resolve disputes between labor and management.

In recent years the scope of the orders in terms of the total agencies to which they apply is drastically different than it was even forty or fifty years ago. Obama isn't the first one to use sweeping orders, but comparing what he did to Calvin Coolidge's orders is a bit like saying Calvin Coolidge was a greener president than Obama because he took 100% less plane trips than did our current president.
