Honey Badger might have won in 2011. Especially after his performance in the SEC Championship game.

if he doesn't get suspended for the auburn game, he wins the heisman.

I don't see LSU every giving their backs or QBs the stat padding needed to win the trophy. Sorry.

The Heisman is now the ESPN hype machine award. As a fan, I don't respect the award as I did in my younger days.

They need one? What happens if they don't get a heisman winner?

Or is this just a way for you to say you'd like to see a LSU player win the heisman?

he would have to break 200+, and Miles won't give a freshman the carries for that...I would love to be wrong though

I agree with your sentiment, but it is an incredibly subjective award. Not to mention that many relevant programs have not even had one winner.

Many times it simply comes down to the biggest offensive impact player on the best team. It is also a highly stat driven award. This makes it difficult for QBs on a balanced offense to put up the right numbers. It also inhibits a great RB on a team that shares a lot of carries from winning.

If you look at manny of the finalists they are often playing in gimmicky offenses that produce lots of stats at a particular position. There is a reason why many recent Heisman winners have been average at best pro players.

Need, no they don't actually need it. Would it be beneficial? Absolutely. Certainly I would like to see this happen.

I do agree that Miles and Co. spread the ball around too much for any 1 player to get the stats needed, just hoping someone stands out enough.

Fournette may be a feature back next year for the most part since we didn't recruit a RB last year IIRC.

BTW, does he have a number yet?

I agree.

McCarron was like third or fourth in the heisman voting last year and his stats were pretty much mediocre compared to the other guys.

If we are an undefeated team and our QB has something like a 3500/500 40 TD stat total, I can definitely see it. Fournette would need around 1800 on the ground and at least 300 through the air with at least 24 total TDs to win.

if he didn't win after having his Heisman moment against Arkansas, the Auburn game in mid-October wasn't gonna put him over the top
