I guess you didn't read it.
1.) One, it says this rate was 'significantly' less when a trainer was involved, versus those doing ind. work.
2.) I will quote "Participants reported primarily acute and fairly mild injuries"
Answer one question and we will continue. What criteria was needing to be met in that study to report an injury? Tennis elbow, bursitis, ruptured spleen. I have a case of tennis elbow right now, if someone asked me if I was injured doing crossfit, I would say yes. I also had tennis elbow playing tennis.

In a biomechanical sense, a proper hollowed out kip put less strain on the AC joint than a strict pull up.
That said, every person I know that has taught kipping has done it only after a person can perform strict pullups with proper form.

The average golfer typically plays approximately 37 rounds per year and spends many more days practicing, so it is not surprising that the rate of injuries is on the rise. Golf, however, is perceived as a low-risk sport. Other sports such as football, basketball or skiing have higher injury rates, but several studies show that golf has its share of injuries, too. One recent study showed that during a two year period, 60 percent of golf professionals and 40 of amateurs suffered either a trau - matic or overuse injury while golfing. Over 80 percent of the reported injuries were related to overuse.
Maybe golf is worse than crossfit, well not maybe, but the standards of 'injury' crossfit is like being in a padded room versus the damn near deadly sport of golf Do you stop and lecture those that play pick up basketball for exercise, what about snow skiers...do they pose that big of a hazard to themselves, should no one enjoy what they enjoy?
crossfit, less injury than golf and shows resulting increases in strength and VO2....sounds evil.

My 2 cents:
If a person becomes a crossfitter, they become a more in-shape version of themself.
If a person becomes a hipster, they change their clothes, taste in music, and outlook on life.
Becoming a crossfitter loses weight
Becoming a hipster loses friends
Hipsters are far worse

Crossdressing hipsters that do crossfit are the worst I've ever actually encountered.
