I don't visit this board alot. I'm not sure if this place has been mentioned.
I was in town to visit my brother. I was a little bummed when I found out we were going to a pizza joint. I was wrong. This place was extrememly good. Legit setup all the way around..great ingrediants, everything made from scratch, 6,900 Neapolitan pound wood fire oven (there are only two in Louisiana).
The coolest part was the unique, not your run of the mill, ingredients. I had the "big hurt".....
San Marzano Tomatoes, Chopped Fresh Garlic, Pecorino-Romano, FRANK’S Mozzarella,
Caramelized Onions, FRANK’S Italian Sausage, Red Wine Braised Pork Shoulder,
Mortadella, Crispy Pancetta, Sopressata & Hand Cut Pepperoni.
Finished with Calabrian Chiles & E.V.O.O.
There were a lot of other good options that i would like to try next time. He has a little garden next to the joint where he grows the basil, oregano, rosemary, etc..Everything fresh.
Shreveporters, you are lucky to have that place. I will definitly go back next time I visit.

I like Franks. A bit overpriced for some things, but the pizza is legit. Decent atmosphere as well.

Pizza was very tasty but far too overpriced, for me at least

On Fern near sportspectrum, I believe.

It's not cheap, but it is good.
Decent selection of beers.
I like the pizza, but I want to try the burger. I watched them cook one in the big oven, complete with fresh baked buns. The waiter let us check it out on his way to serve it, and it looked impressive.
I've had some good soups there too.

I prefer Rotolos right across the street.

I like Rotolo's for the beer and sports crowd, but the pizza is, to me, about like what everyone else sells. Frank's is more the neapolitan style.
Folks seem to prefer one or the other. Nothing wrong with either. It's just personal preference.

Never been to Frank's. Every time I pass it, no one is there either. I assumed it was either because of poor food or poor price. Sounds like price.

Ditto. They sell a lot of beer as well.

Never been, how expensive are the pizzas? $15-20?
Everyone seems to have a positive review of this place. I hope to try it one day.

Prices look higher than Domenica and they most certainly don't have near the overhead of large buildings in the CBD & Magazine St. I can see how that would turn off people in Shreveport, a place where there's an hour wait for Chili's every night. I will definitely check them out next time I'm in town though, the menu looks great.

shreveport has a higher net income per household than new orleans.

Let's not get in a pissing match, shall we
I just don't think most people around Shreveport have experienced legit pizza before and get immediately thrown off by the prices when they think they are going to a typical pizza place.
Franks also has some pretty badass seafood specials on occasion. They are doing it right.

I think most people realize its not a typical pizza place when they don't see the johnny's buffet when they walk in and there is a word in the name of the restaurant they don't know how to pronounce.

I heard plenty of complaints when it first opened about "burnt" crusts, so I don't know

the oysters are fantastic. Good beer selection too.
Pizza pretty good too. I've had the rucola, salmon and diavola, and all were quite tasty.
