What you listed is not true, please bring up serious posts where a number of people have said that he needs to get 25 carries a game, that he is the best RB ever, that he is better than Bo, Herchel, Jim Brown, Walter Payton, etc without it sounding tongue in cheek.

Last week there were at least three different occasions where it was said he will be the GOAT. Like I said earlier, I'm too lazy to go look it up. If you go back a few weeks, you will see multiple comments on how dominant he will be (before even paying one snap).

Les may just leave him in and crown him JJ the second

Did you just refer to Buga as JJ the second?

One thing is certain, if he does not live up to the hype his freshman start, it will be bad for everyone. Without a spectacular season from him at running back, we are middle of the pack at best

Frick that. He needs to be used so early that he calls the coin flip.

He'll get a lot of carries. Magee is a great back, but not the bruiser Fournette can be. I think Fournette has more talent than Hillard, although I think Hillard will have a good season also. I could see Fournette beating out MaGee and Hillard. I don't know why it would be such a surprise to so many fans on this site if he is the starter against Wisconsin. We just have to wait and see how fast he picks it up and learns the college game. It might take him a little while or he might go beast mode right from the start.

We will remind them that they haven't paid attention to how Les Miles coaches and they will call us names, curse, and accuse us of not being a true fan.

Even if LF runs it 30 times and we win people like you will still bitch about Miles.

Buga Nation is not going to be brought in slowly IMO. You dont take a stud like that and keep him on the bench especially since he will probably be going to the NFL just as soon as he is eligible. I dont even think Miles could do this.

Magee is this offseason's Alfred Blue. He's a decent back, but to act like he's in the same league as LF is just silly. And that's no disrespect to Magee (or Blue). He will have his chance to play on Sundays.

But you don't play them ahead of a Jeremy Hill or LF.

I believe most people expect the running game to carry the team this year. Everyone should bitch if a true frosh is running the ball 30 times a game though. You'd kill the guy's NFL future.

So for such a dominant player, no 1 RB in the country, Adrian Peterson...esk, he should have been able to run all over the babies he was playing against in high school, enough dominance to carry his team to 4 consecutive state championships. But it didn't happen and it ain't gonna happen at LSU either, at least for certain his freshman year, but who knows after that.

In Adrian Peterson's senior year, Palestine (Tx) High School went 11-3, so while a fine season, they didn't go undefeated and win a state championship.

It's good to keep expectations tempered regarding LF.

However, the first time Cecil Collins strapped on an LSU helmet, it was against SEC competition and he was a man among boys.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that LF does the same thing.

I hope Terrance Magee has a monster year and Fournette is brought in as change of pace back. 10 touches a game tops.

Running back is the easiest position to transition into outside of kickers. A talent like LF does not typically get brought along slowly. However, LM isn't the typical coach as indicated by past history. I do believe the Tigers will run 40 or more times per game on average so there will be plenty of carries to go around. I believe LF will wind up averaging 15 or more carries per game, building to a peak of possibly 18 to 20 by seasons end. One thing appears certain; the strength of this offense will be the OL and running game, which includes to agile QB's. Wouldn't be surprised to see them average 220 ypg or more on the ground.

derp yeah it's going be really hard for him to adjust when he's bigger than the linebackers that are going to try to tackle him.

Now do the Negative Nancy's ever act? "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!"

The kid had a great HS career and was the top RB and #4 ranked player in this yrs recruiting class nationally. That's mighty high cotton.

If he is as good as all that and he picks up blocking gigs, I look for him to play early and often. If he doesn't, I'm not gonna put a gun to my head or get all worked up....shite happens in sports.

I thought he was #1 RB and #4 player over all, but I'm not a recruiting expert.

My bad...I guess.

In all seriousness Lonnie he was dropped by Rivals from #1 because he didn't sign with Bama. Every other site had him #1 for years, knowing that he was more a Jadeveon Clowney, A.D. Peterson type freak that only comes around every few years and is almost sure to dominate as a freshman.

Some possible reasons LF doesn't get the number of carries many expect;

1) Terrence Magee comes out in complete beast mode from play 1. Makes it nearly impossible for the coaches to sub for him. Entirely possible, great things are expected from this dude.

2) LF has some issues picking up the nuances of the offense, ie pass blocking schemes etc..Possible but unlikely.

3) LF gets nicked up in fall drills.
