I've been to white front, they are outstanding. Very hard to find. I was in Rosedale and drove around till I found an older guy that I was comfortable rolling down the window enough that he wouldn't kill me. He told me where it was (rosedale is only a couple blocks long on one street). I drove by it 3x, then finally found it. You walk into a one room house where the woman lives, there was no AC when I was there. There is one pot on the stove. You look for a menu, there is none. She asks "6 or 12". You fork over some money for a bundle of extremely cheap tamales on a styro plate, eat them in the house. They are really good.

Best tamale I've ever had was on the beach in Mexico. Guy was on his bike, locals running up like crazy to buy them. We bought one for something like 15 cents. It was in a green banana leaf. It was closer in size to a burrito. Instead of being stuffed, it was white masa with lots of veggies and chicken kinda rolled into it and then put in the banana leaf. Not greasy at all, moist and delicious. I had one very similar in new Orleans when the owner of Taqueria corona's mother through a private party.
