That's not what Cauble said a few pages back. Those 4 spots under the SEZ LEDs are going to be used for time, score, stats, etc. It seems like they are going to utilize the ribbon boards for most of the ads.

If that's the case then that Cs guy is bitching about nothing.

I asked if sponsors (Verizon) were was a hang up and he said no, they were great.

Verizon is not a major sponsor this year. Verizon also offered to cover the cost of the cellular upgrades to the stadium but LSU said, "No we got this"...good thing, because now all cell carriers will work in the stadium instead of just Verizon! Good job Joe!

NEZ will still have it's detractors. I think the sound system will be a ??? It's the same as last year and it may sound great with the endzone closed in, but it was way too loud last year,

Totally disagree. I sit in the NEZ (sec 209) and the sound was perfect!

Agreed on traffic, they really have to get together with city PD and SO to make a plan and make it consistent. I think that was the biggest problem, one week you could, next week you couldn't

Yep! 100% agree. State Street needs to be contraflow BOTH lanes egress after the game. They used to do this 2 years ago and EBR police stopped contraflow...have no idea why they stopped. Must have contraflow on State Street to Dalrymple Drive after the games

I don't think that's accurate. Look at a pic of the SEZ video boards. Those 4 spots are nothing but boxes with a fluorescent light tube inside. You put whatever ad on the front that you want to and turn on the light and it illuminates the ad.

So I'm going to sum this all up in one post for everyone who is OUTRAGED for no reason.. we are getting what we always wanted..

1) On the NEZ Board, the only ads on the LED SCREEN will be on the sides as seen here:

2) On the NEW Screens in the SEZ, there will be static ads on the bottom four spaces on each one.

Summary: They are taking away 4 ads from the LED Screen in the NEZ, and ADDING 8 static ads NOT TAKING UP SPACE ON THE LED SCREEN to the SEZ Boards.

true but when you right it this way it makes it sound like a net of 4 total ads. 8-4. That was Cs's argument. But that's flawed because the old South endzone scoreboard had ads.

So really its taking ads off the LED screens as well as not increasing the overall ad space on scoreboards (static or LED).

All in all its a pretty big win for the fans.

true, but anyways, my point is we are gaining space where it counts (led boards), while keeping advertisers happy by giving them space.

My understanding, and I think it was Choctaw that originally pointed this out, is that when they removed the old SEZ scoreboard, the ads that were on it had to go somewhere (because they were paid for) and the only place to put them was on the NEZ video board. It was a temporary measure only for the 2013 season and now things are back to normal.

And according to what Sports2 said this is what the board will look like this year with a "ticker" at the bottom.

Pretty much was true from the beginning. But people complained anyway. Another running joke added to the TD barrel.

I'm saying that we made an improvement and people still bitch. I just don't get it. There are plenty of places they can put the statistics you are looking for. The ribbon boards for example. If I wanted to watch a TV I would stay home.
