We have inter-conference games. We have metrics to compare.

Not really. Alabama beating up on WVU is not indicative of the SEC being superior to the Big 12.

Ideally, all teams would belong to 10 team conferences, the play a round robin schedule with the winners meeting in a playoff.

USC got hosed in 2003 because they were #1 in the polls. Polls trump everything.

They did get hosed, they should have gone over Oklahoma.

Teams win the championship without winning their conference all the time, in pretty much every sport at every level. It makes sense, because team A and B and C all in one conference may all be better than the best team of another conference.

This is true, but if the 4 best teams in the NFL are all in the NFC, then only one of them has a shot at the championship game and only two of them have a shot at the "final four."

There's no perfectly fair way to do it unless everyone plays everyone, and that's just impossible.

MOV is a terrible thing to consider. The SEC has a half dozen quality teams making blowouts less likely in our league.

SOS should have never been dropped.

Is an arbitrary number. It is the worst thing to ever have as it is dependent on pre season rankings, which this whole site complains about.

Any computer program or formula can be manipulated to show any team as the best in the country, which is why I like the committee idea.

SOS at the end of the year. Not preseason. That should be obvious.

SOS isnt the worst MOV is.

Im not opposed to a committee but the people that have been selected are not guaranteed to get it right either. A committee can be just as manipulated as anything else.

Nobody is going to get it right. No committee, system, or program does. People are bitching about this committee for no reason. They will do the best job they can and do what is right. That is all I am wanting.

I never bitched about the committee. I agreed that it wouldn't be a bad idea to take the top 4. Thats when shite seemed to get real.

This committee will last long enough til people get tired of it then they will change it. Then people will get tired of the next system and change it again.

yall do know that just because teams are 1-4 in the polls, that doesn't mean they're the 4 best teams?

I honestly think this is the best way to do things. I don't think it really ruins the regular seasons, but we would have to say goodbye to conference championships.

If you pass over a top 4 team you risk split titles again.

Say #6 gets in the playoff and #3 doesnt. #3 wins a big bowl and stays ahead in the AP.

Most people may not respect it but the ncaa does.

Exactly. And I think the committee will follow the polls at the end of the day. No one wants split titles.

there's no way a #6 team entering the playoffs would NOT jump #3 who missed the playoffs if they beat the #1 and #2 or #4 teams for the title...

I'm not saying they wouldn't for sure but it's possible.

LSU should have jumped USC in 2003 but they didn't.
