Have had my heritage for about 6 years now... No rust, no misfires, no complaints.

The mag drum is loud as hell..

I have a .22 LR SP101 in satin finish stainless steel, never fired, (NIB), wooden stocks, that I'll sell for what I paid for it ($625).

Warranty forms have not been submitted, so it would go to buyer with full warranty.

Sale would be F-T-F in BR.

I'm pretty well satisfied with my H & R 999 Sportsman.

I like this one. Cheap, and it works. Sleeps in my truck, I take it on the boat when I go out, sidearm for the woods. I got it pretty much strictly for snakes and pesky critters. For a sub-200 dollar gun it's held up great.

I've never fired a heritage, but I have a single six and the quality is very nice.
Mag cylinder is fun.
Gun is accurate.

I wouldn't hesitate to keep the Ruger under my truck seat loaded with mags.

Thanks QuietTiger. Should I look on the GunBroker.com webiste plus Gander Mountain and Academy? I would have it for travel and to shoot snakes while bushhogging and/or checking on game cameras

Man, I wish I could tell you. The one I had was stolen along with 4 other handguns years ago. Until this thread I thought all you could get was used.
If you find a good deal, ask them what they can do for 2, we used to get great deals that way.
Hell of a weapon though.

So I am choosing between these too. Which would you get?
Ruger SP101 .22LR
OR
Smith & Wesson Model 617 .22LR

I like how they don't put pictures of the left side of the gun because of the ugly arse safety lock hole

Regardless, that is one of smith and wesson's best pieces of work. You can't get a better off the shelf double action .22 IMO
