If you haven't seen at least 10 big black cats in wild in your life you need to get the hell off this board bro

I hear people in Louisiana say this all the time. I'm not trying to call anyone a dumbass, but 90% of hunters have never heard a bobcat or a racoon growl. When the remaining 10% of hunters hear that sound, 99% of them are adamant they heard a "black panther" or "panther". There is nothing you can say to persuade them otherwise.

I have spent more time in the LA woods than most and I have never seen, heard, or even thought I have have seen any type of sign of any big cat.

Anybody here have any experience with big cats (Cougars, Panthers, etc.) in the wild?

not yet, but I hope I'm armed when I do. Hopefully it's in season too. That's asking a lot

There have been two sightings of a cat (probably the same one) within a mile of my place in the last 6 months.

Was deer hunting at my camp in poplarville ms this past thanksgiving
Morning. Saw a big cat, looked over 100lbs, walk across a lane on my left (no it was not black.) couldnt believe it at first. The next day i was talking to the guy who owns the land west of us and he said he saw a big cat a few days before and took a shot at it but missed. Im about 5 miles from pearl river, so my guess is this cat travels up and down the river. Ive read that their territorys can stretch upwards of 100 square miles

Saw a cougar/panther/puma whatever you want to call it two years ago deep in the wood at my friends hunting camp in Ft. Adams. It was a grayish color with a long 4' or so dark grey tail. It was laying in the road when I drove up to it. I stopped and it sat up looked back at us and then walked off.
I personally dont have any pics but the guy that owns the camp next to us later told us he has him/her on a trail cam pic.

Squatch. They have been mimicking black panthers for years.

they released some here in NE Fl in the mid 90s.

Bout 6 months after they released them I saw the same one 3 times in a yr. It had a huge tracking collar with a number on it.
