Most of the recent hosts have been pretty weak, but I thought Seth Meyers killed it a couple years ago.

"That match was so long Greg Oden took a picture of it and sent it to his girlfriend."

It's nothing more than ESPN being even more obvious when they're kissing up to the athletes they're supposed to be covering.

Plus, athletes are some of the least self-aware people on earth, and most of them either don't have a sense of humor or aren't smart enough to possess one, so they can't have entertaining bits or edgy hosts, and there's practically no self-deprecation.

I just watched that entire Norm clipped and laughed so hard. Athletes weren't use to being clowned like that back then.

The Espy's have always sucked because award shows suck; however god damn I love norm (he performed on Tulane Campus in 07)

None of those would have passed muster not only at the ultra PC ESPN, but anywhere today.

that monologue would have Norm being called

misogynist, transphobic, racist...

you know what's interesting is that the crowd was laughing (even giving him a great reaction to the german woman's penis bit)and those same people are still playing today or involved in the sports scene and play along with the ultra PC NBA, NFL, MLB, etc. I bet they still think it is funny. Same goes for regular people. Not only can we not enjoy entertainment, but we have to deny that we find it entertaining or else we're guilty by association

We've basically made what was supposed to be entertainment, a boring PC sensitive self satisfying get together because just a few people
don't have a sense of humor.

Their obsession over how bad ESPN can be

ESPN is just such a disingenuous experience. I don't know how it is supposed to appeal to 18-34 year old men. I remember Tom Jackson and Michael Irvin having a really interesting discussion with rush Limbaugh that they clearly felt had merit (Rush did what he was hired to do, make it interesting) and the next week it was the same two guys giving this face like a fricking tragedy had occurred.

Lesson learned (race=ratings/debate=ratings)The entire premise of Cold pizza or whatever the frick they're calling it is centered on subtle and not so subtle race baiting...but then they go and pull off the whole PC Nation herpy derp feel good vibe when it suits them. They really are just a slimy network that airs NOTHING of any substantive value (other than NFL games which rarely come on)

I literally have not watched ESPN in 2014...It wasn't even a decision I was aware of, it's just so awful and airs nothing that would interest me or inform me about sports. It's awfulness, which would take longer than I have to explain, has actually decreased my interest in sports.

That clip was great. All those self-important douches were cringing in the audience.

Drake was great, like him or not he was funny. The side pieces song was epic! If only ESPN would've zoomed in on all the awkward stares and looks around the room. They only showed the single guys laughing their asses off!

This

I read some of the live thread on the ESPYs last night and people on here were actually getting mad or excited about people winning these stupid awards. Strange Oh and of course everyone was mad because they had a gay guy on.

Drake was fricking awful. I think the last one that really stood out to me was Justin Timberlake's a few years ago. I couldn't sit through it last night. One of the worst ESPYs I've seen.
