I mean, I agree that our bar scene isn't fantastic.. but think about it.
Places are rarely full. You have certain places that get a big crowd on certain nights, but there's rarely a case where ALL bars are packed.
More bars would only disperse the crowds even more.
I don't like a packed place, but I also don't want everywhere I go to be a ghost town.
Look at Sundays, for example. Once the laws changed, the places that used to get big crowds no longer have them. It's just a bunch of mostly empty places.

I second Wednesday at the Bulldog. A friend and I went for after dinner drinks and the girl:guy ratio was like a party in a music video and the hot:meh:ugly ratio was reminiscent of a music video as well.
