Diawa changes the baitcaster game

Notice the line hole. When you go to cast the top of the reel pops up and as the line is coming off the reel back and forth the line is not forced through a small hole like on conventional baitcasters. Got to cast one at Bowie last week. I am impressed. The small notch at the bottom of the line guide allows the line to be level winded when reeling back in.
Ingenious design.

My old man is a Diawa die hard, I've always been a Shimano fan. May have to check one out..

I have a couple of those purdy red//black Daiwa reels.

First thing I had to do was replace the handles. Those offset paddles hit my knuckles when reeling.

Oh, and they aren't worth what they cost. I use 'em, but much prefer my Calcuttas.
