Ima say that's a little strong, although I do agree with your premise that the aforementioned federal raid, and others like it, have zero to do with public health, welfare, and safety, and everything to do with money. That fact alone - and I do think it's an establish fact at this point - should really get people pisseder than it does. Furthermore, people should be pisseder whether they smoke dope or not.

Had a semi-related discussion with my wife on this subject last night. The suckiest part of democracy is that the attention of the powers that be are historically grabbed when and only when several thousand people amass with weapons. It's basically happened 2.5 times in the history of this country. Around 1776, around 1861, and to some degree, the 60's.

It's a damn shame that THAT has to happen before folks begin to think of what policy, procedure, and measure are really doing to the greatest country ever established.
